Field ReportYear in Review, 9 months of TRP (self.TheRedPill)

submitted by Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood

Summary: This post is a quasi 9 month field report of successes and failures through the year, advice, and a thank you to how fucking awesome TRP is.

It’s always commented on here that you don’t make giant leaps of raising your value. It’s more about those little 1% changes that add up to you eventually being in the top 20%. We often have 1 month challenges, think of this as a year in review of everything you've done since finding TRP.

Since it’s the end of the year, I figured it’d be interesting to note down every small little increment that I’ve change in my life since reading TRP and i invite you to do so also. Along with some successes and contrasting my personality preTRP. It’s good to be able to visualize everything you’ve done and see how much you’ve changed. Since a lot of times we forget all the little improvements we did through the year.

This post doesn't have any great revelations or the flash or a GLO post but it might give newbies an idea of what you can achieve in a year and ideas to practice on.

These are in fairly accurate chronological order.

4 months into the year i found TRP

  • ended a 4 year relationship and engagement. My general mood and outlook was horrible, super depressed.

  • started lifting again after doing nothing for 7 years

  • Forced myself to have laser eye contact with people

  • went out and bought some new clothes for the first time in probably a year or two. I stuck with my somewhat outdated style though. Not bad style, just clothes more for a 21 year old than a 25 year old.

  • Got on tinder, started practicing A&A to the extreme after being pretty much a social recluse for 4 years.

  • Got into carpentry, built my own floating bed with backlit LEDs, stained my dressers to match. Cut into my gym time which i was pretty religious about for the first 6 months. Needed to keep myself distracted from ending my engagement.

  • Got into mixology and cooking

  • Read No More Mr Nice Guy, Sex God method and a few more books

  • a month in after some basic strength training I start 5x5 stronglifts

  • buy a lumbar support for work at the desk to correct my posture

  • Became much more dominant in bed. Read a girl’s body language now tells me a lot more than anything she could ever verbalize.

  • Started proactively being direct and never beating around the bush with girls. If i wanted to kiss them, I’d grab them and do it. If i wanted to talk about sex, we’d talk about sex. If i wanted ice cream all of the sudden, I’d grab her and get ice cream. I shut down supplication mentality of the, ”what do you want to do?” subsequently girls have never been happier being around me. Minimal shit tests.

  • A few friends and I take a random road trip to a party a party island a few hours away. We fumbled a bit but the adventure mentality and just doing whatever the fuck we want was great. Men should travel to random places more often, helps push you out of your comfort zones. Also boosted IDGAF and you’re more bold with women

  • Moved in with 3 friend at a local campus for a more social environment. One of them is a natural Gronk alpha and could power talk against Donald Trump, I used this to up my own A&A and dealing with Amog’s.

  • Started using my experience of A&A from tinder, in person at bars. Just saying random shit, to my surprise, never been slapped. Most girls find it hilarious that I say whatever the fuck i want.

  • Started practicing minor dance moves, haven’t gone full bore with it yet though.

  • 6 months in and I went from skinny fat 175lbs to ripped sub 10%bf 190. I’m get hard IOI now, girls even come up to me and hit on me from time to time. They’ll squeeze my arms or play with my hair(I have Thor hair).

  • start focusing heavily on good posture, learn some techniques from TRP to do so.

  • about this time i had 5 or 6 new girls under my belt. 2 plated. Finally started to ”Feel” the abundance mentality instead of faking it. I’d ignore girls, drop contact or completely forget I got their numbers as It wasn’t a huge priority anymore.

  • took my first ever girl home from the bar. Whiskey dicked it but fucked for 4 hours straight in the morning. To this day she “hates” me, we had nothing in common, great sex though. Pro tip, if a girl says she hates you after being on your dick, that’s not what she means.

  • I was never really in the anger phase, but i did have a tiny bit of annoyance from seeing things happen with an RP outlook. This finally started to fade and I was falling into the acceptance phase of , ”don’t hate girls for being themselves”.

  • Girl roommate commented on me as very outgoing compared to most guys. Never would have thought that would be a word used to describe me.

  • backpedaled a bit and one drunken night/fight agreed with my main plate to be exclusive. Broke it off a month later

  • Went hard with IDGAF attitude, 2 days after ending it I had a new plate i pulled from scratch, still have her

  • by now I’m around 8-10 new girls for the year, some tinder, some in person. The experience has made me a lot more picky, I set hard boundaries now on what I want and don’t put up with shit. I’m a bit abrasive on them though and need to work on finesse. At this point I realized how idiotic it is for a guy in today's world to start a LTR after only dating maybe two or three girls. You really need to "feel" abundance mentality to even have a baseline on screening girls and what you do/don't want out of a girl. I'll never put up with the shit i did just 4 months ago, ever again. It's like being pulled out of a fish bowl and thrown into the ocean.

  • got my first, 2 girls in one weekend, one was a plate so it wasn't 2 brand new girls.

  • abundance mentality is setting in more, I no longer need to bake tinder or txt’s, It just happens as i’m busy or don’t care to talk to the girls.

  • Outcome Independence is finally setting in. I no longer go out caring if I get laid, i just go and do enjoy myself as i know i can get laid from my plates.

  • Ran into my the girl that ”hates me” at the bars again. Didn’t say a word to her just had fun with my friends. Text her at last call, ”hey”, ”sup”, just to get the confirm, called her, walked down the road to meet her, threw her over my shoulder and took her to my place. When i know a chick is into me now, I’m extremely direct, you can literally get away with anything. Never would have even thought of this preTRP

  • Start studying into fitness sciences more. Learn the ins and outs of macros. Figure out deficiencies I might have. Fix my constant lethargy with ZMA and 5-HTP, was lacking in some minerals.

  • Start practicing some basic machiavellian stuff. When girls come over to the house(I have a girl roommate) I’ll get them to do small things for me to practice positive reinforcement and the Ben Franklin effect. Now girls will just come over and help me with things, play with my hair massage me, get me drinks, help me cook, etc.

  • When a girl asks me to buy her a drink now, I pressure flip her a bit just to mess with her, then get her to go get me and her a drink, but only if my current one is running low. Sometime I’ll make them wait quite a while.

  • Get two new girls in one weekend

  • redid my wardrobe again, much more modern and stylish. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone for clothes. Started caring about shoes(I've always been a 2 pairs of shoes guy, work and casual. Always thought more shoes than that was stupid as shit or something only girls did). Now I match from head to toe, have been getting tons of compliments on my appearance now. Shoe matter.

  • subsequently I’ve been getting a bit of beta shame from other guys as my physique and apparel is getting better. I counter it with complements and positivity, it’s a rare issue now.

  • Learn that cold showers can be great for invigoration, immune system, testosterone production. I now take them right before parties or going out at night. Puts me in the zone and ready to take on anything.(Don’t do them after a workout though. read the comments if you want to know why)

  • with 8 months of cooking behind me, I am now the master of salmon/tilapia and filet mignon. Next year I’ll master chicken and maybe something a bit exotic. I kinda took the title of ”cook” in our circle of friends from another guy who is probably better than me. Could see it hit his ego a bit, beta shame and started getting hyper critical of my cooking. Countered it like earlier with positivity and the 48 laws, ”Never outshine the master”. I invite him over to help me cook and show me shit.

  • Pulled a girl from a bar, heavy LMR. I know full well i can get this girls pants off if i want, but for the first time ever, i have a half naked girl in my bed and don't really care if i get laid. I fucked my plate 8 hours earlier. We mess around a bit and go to bed, was a fun fucking night. I pulled her cause she entertained me, not because I just wanted to fuck. True outcome independence.

  • Bulking for the past month, up to 195, trying to hit 210 before spring.

  • Yesterday my girl roommate commented to another as ”Clint_Redwood does not give a fuck” referring to how i handle girls, guess I’m doing something right.

That’s only what I could remember, there was a lot more that i did. Pretty much making sure every day I did something to improve myself and be better than i was yesterday.

back before my 4 year relationship i was a quasi alpha/beta that had an ugly duck syndrome. I lost my V card at 20 and kind went Ham for a few months before my 4 year LTR. I was blessed with good genetics so the shoes were a bit easier to fall into. When i started TRP my goal was to get back to that level before my LTR. Today, I'm not anything like i thought i would turn out. TRP has rebranded what i thought i would be when looking back at my short run before the LTR.

Goals for next year

  • 210-220lbs

  • get heavy into dancing

  • find more hobbies

  • find more sources of revenue (I’m already successful at what i do)

  • possible buy a house

  • threesome

  • maybe a second language

Closing

TRP is fucking awesome and has changed my life faster and better than I could ever have imagined. I made some great proactive strides back when i was 21 before my LTR but TRP is like bettering yourself while injecting social steroids. I've achieved more this year than i could have ever imagined, I can't wait to see what I'll be like in another year. It's very much a snowball effect, once you start you just can't stop.

For the newbies, I'm definitely more cynically than I was preTRP. Life looks bleak after swallowing and you do sometimes reminisce of the old Disney fantasy relationship but then all you have to do is remember how miserable you actually were. And knowing that you can not ever go back to them, the red pill is very much an irreversible self revelation.

I think the redpill opens you up more for highs and lows. If life is a spectrum, using say light as an example, bluepill thinking would be visible light, once you swallow the red pill, you can see everything from gama rays to AM radio. Kinda like the saying, "you have to get hurt and be sad to appreciate being happy". The redpill will drop you low at first, it will flip your mentality but once you learn to accept it and craw out of what seems like bleakness, everything you find is that much more fulfilling and vibrate. We often talk about women with a negative connotation or even contempt here. But once you see that it's mostly flashy writing and a protective barrier for newcomers to adopt a healthy & critical mindset, similar to AWALT and the loaded gun analogy. You learn to accept women and get to truly appreciate them for everything they bring you. you learn to be the ying, the stoic, unmovable rock while learning to appreciate the yang, girls for their innocence and youthful nature. You'll also start to be turned off by the abrasive, masculine type girls, the slutty or party girls will have less appeal.

It's definitely a struggle to keep improving every day. It's draining to know everything you know about women's subconscious nature and all the social dynamics at play, to push yourself out of comfort, forcing the introvert to be extrovert. But every day it gets easier and better, the mental and physical pain is worth the reward.

Thank you to everyone that contributes. I’d be married and fucking miserable right now.

I enjoyed reading this and am pleased for you.

I know some people might think that FR's that crop up like this from week to week go over the same ground, mention the same tips, summarise similar successes; however I think (as an RP newbie myself) the constant checking, reviewing and improving of what TRP is about dovetails perfectly with what TRP is trying to do and is beneficial for the newbies that need that early reassurance.

I see progress like yours and use it as inspiration - not simply due to the end result but because of the importance of discipline and commitment to yourself during every part of the journey.

Great post and congrats on your journey so far, you've definitely made it. There are many good lessons in your write up but I think the most important ones are:

  • Small improvements over time add up. It's like compound interest for your life.
  • Once you have abundance, IDGAF/directness/outcome independence come naturally.
  • You need experience with plenty of women and abundance mentality before you can even think of settling down into a LTR.
  • I'm convinced that cooking is a key skill for men. It makes it so much easier to bring women home.
  • Finally, lift.

I'm convinced that cooking is a key skill for men. It makes it so much easier to bring women home.

It's a fucking fantastic skill. Half of my first meets are at my place cooking. Easy situation to kino and flirt.

I have a 100% fuck rate when I invite them over for dinner on a 2nd or 3rd date.

Filet mignon, pan sear with olive oil, sprinkle on a little salt and pepper, then finish it in the oven. Meanwhile red potatoes and asparagus are already in there getting nice and cripsy. Fuck yes. Pour wine, drink wine. Movie? Sure. Move to the couch. Why don't you come a little closer? You have soft lips. Now your on top of me. I reach into your shirt, pull down your bra, now I'm sucking on your nipple. Stand up as if you weren't even on top of me, carry you to the bed, immediately remove all of your clothes. Boom goes the dynamite.

Sorry, I lost myself for a moment...

[–]Brap180 17 points18 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I was picturing the Old Spice guy while reading this.

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 8 points9 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

try filet baked on top of two handfuls of Thyme and garlic cloves, add butter and olive oil and every 10 minutes re-bast it. cook for 30min. Also add in carrots around the pan if you want some bomb ass fried carrots.

Practical advice like this is actually really good to read for those who are unexperienced.

(I’m already successful at what i do)

This is the first time you even mentioned your source of income. I even searched your post for the words "pay" "income" or "job" to make sure I didnt miss anything. Nothing.

Will never understand why guys like you who are seeing benefits from TRP somehow seem to forget that they usually are excelling at something much more important, MAKING MONEY. Your SMV is owed more due to having wherewithal than TRP. For many men including myself, money is much more elusive than women.

What I'm getting at, is if you're successful at business, or making money, you should write a post about that, sincerely requested by those of us that need a little more TRP career advice.

What I'm getting at, is if you're successful at business, or making money, you should write a post about that, sincerely requested by those of us that need a little more TRP career advice.

I want to but I'm afraid it would be to easy to link to my in real life.

[–]martypete6 points [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link

I think that might be the reason we don't see much of that here. I'm happy for you, but don't forget that money enables everything else. When I read shit about guys that turn down Google jobs for females and it makes my blood boil. At this point in my life I'd like to trade my ability with women for an actual non-shit income job. But life doesn't work like that . I wish you the best bro.

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 12 points13 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

Use your social prowess in career. Corporate America is pretty much a bunch of medium skilled tasks and the most socially powerful rise to the top.

[–]martypete2 points [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm at the bottom of corporate retail. Dont want to go up, but want to change paths. Tired of having my performance measured by sales numbers. Dont know what to do.

[–]JaredTheGreat6 points [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Sales is one of the most red pill professions there is. If you're not excited about sales, you are using the wrong sales method. Try the Sandler method; that shit works and gets serious results.

[–][deleted] 29 points30 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Cool review man, I love to see the progress being made and enjoy reading reviews like yours. Now pass it along to others specifically here and encourage them to make the life change.

[–]suspencealot 7 points8 points  (8 children) | Copy Link

Newbie here, can I ask what A&A is?

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (5 children) | Copy Link

I think he means "Agree & Amplify".

[–]evoblade 2 points3 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

I assume this is explained in one of the sidebar posts?

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

Yes, it's part of the "shit tests" articles. Pretty much when a woman gives you a shit test such as this:

When you use a pick up line on a woman and she replies by saying "You probably say that to all the woman you hit on.

You can agree to her statement and amplify your response to the absurd like this:

"Yeah, I literally start every conversation that I have with a woman with it."

Really you should read the whole sidebar, definitely worth the time and it explains it much better than I do.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Upvoted for explaining this without being a dick about it.

The sidebar is great. So many terms that are foreign to newer men: AWALT, AF/BB, CC. A&A, etc.

[–]evoblade 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Thanks. I've read a lot of the articles and intend to finish the rest

[–]_fappycamper 4 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Agree with what they are saying, and then amplify it to absurdity when they shit test you. This shows that you don't put much weight in what they said.

You should read the sidebar though for better explanations.

Excellent yearly report. Clearly someone who has listened and taken action. Work on acquiring currency and assets now and you will be a truly balanced, top 5% man. Although this is a sexual strategy forum, nothing beats the freedom of being rich. It doesn't hurt with women either, but doesn't look like you need any help with that.

Don't really want to take anything away from you, my year can be summarized like this:

  • Added $200k to my yearly income. Which consequently covered the $200k in taxes I had to pay...
  • Broke up with my LTR at the start of last year.
  • Slept with a bunch of women.
  • Picked the best of the bunch to LTR.
  • Travelled to 6 countries throughout the year on vacation and had a blast.
  • Dropped 10lbs of fat, added 3lbs of muscle.

Not everyones goals are the same, what's important is you have what YOU want in mind. (Not what this sub tells you, make up your own mind). Then take daily action (discipline) to get the results you want. It's as simple as that.

I think the important thing is nuance. For example, this post is classic text book red pill. I COULD do this if I wanted to, but I chose not to. The choice is yours. For example, i've been making the conscious choice to improve my business. I would like to retire a multimillionaire at age 35, thats a firm goal I have set. You can't really tell me that is wrong, or worse than plating a bunch of women. This isn't hamstering, going out and approaching would tear away from the 15 hours a day i'm spending on my business. I litereally don't have time to go hard at it.

It's up to you to make your choices and various people disposition and personality will sway them in one way or another. Anyway, find out what makes you happy and ruthlessly take it.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

Fantastic post! One question thought, why don't you take cold showers after a workout?

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 7 points8 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

it's shut's down some shit in your muscle that stunt proper protein synthesis or some shit. You can still take them, just not right after a workout. There is a post this week that detailed it. Can't remember the name tho.

[–]theHuskyElephant 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

I like cold showers after work-outs. Your muscles all feel giant, one of the biggest pumps I've ever felt.

Can you give examples of positive reinforcement you use? Preferably three. And expound on what helped the most in some areas, this post is a good example of how TRP can help but also misses the idea of using what you learned to help others like you. Really I'm just trying to guilt-trip you to explain more. What do you think was your biggest game-changer?

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

What do you think was your biggest game-changer?

Positive reinforcement. I come from an alpha/beta father who taught me that I have certain tasks and requirements to do and no one should tell you to or thank you for it. It was very much a "get shit done and don't talk about it.". Not in a dickish way though, more of just a humble approach. Kinda like "son, you know what you need to do. I better not have to tell you or thank you for it". In some cultures it's actually rude to say please and thank you etc.

This was great for developing a bulldog work ethic, but it stunted me when interacting with other. I often found myself being very brash and direct which doesn't work well for some. So practicing complements and positive reinforcement was something completely strange for me.

[–]altjt 5 points6 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

This is why we're here, fellas.

Onwards and upwards!

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Cool do you have instructions for the floating bed? I have limited access to wood working equipment but I'd like to know more.

*edit: oh wait, you've made this post before. I recognize your selfie.
Nevermind.

[–]DonaldJTrump2k16 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Congratulations. Good read start to finish. I like reading success stories, they are good for motivation.

[–]FemtoG 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Good job on getting ripped. It looks like your 6'0 or above, so the world really is your oyster at this point.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Hey /u/Clint_Redwood, did the lumbar support help you? I have lumbar lordosis and have been looking to fix it for a while. I'm aware I can do stretches, but my day job is one sitting in a chair in front of a computer, so this could be helpful.

Good job by the way. You're doing fucking well.

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I didn't have any issues with my back beside pain from bad posture. It did help, along with a lot of up and lower back work in the gym and constant self awareness of my posture. Do lat pull downs but bring the bar to your chest instead of behind the neck. Just like a benchpress stance. It will tighten the hell out of your back muscles.

[–]D3STRUCTI0N 2 points3 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Do you not take cold showers after a work out because you might get sick or another reason?

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

it's shut's down some shit in your muscle that stunt proper protein synthesis or some shit. You can still take them, just not right after a workout. There is a post this week that detailed it. Can't remember the name tho.

[–]D3STRUCTI0N 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

So just a hot shower after work out then

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

That's amazing, congratulations. I've been trying to read more lately and in curious what some of your favorite books are

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 8 points9 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

about 5 minutes ago i just put down "What Every Body Is Saying" which is a book on reading body language written by an FBI agent. Just finished the 3rd chapter and it's fucking amazing.

I've also read "No more Mr Nice Guy" and "Sex God Method". Both of which are fucking fantastic. I haven't ever considered myself to be a "Nice Guy" but I decided to read that book anyways and it was well worth it.

As for a specific genre or style I prefer outside of TRP literature. I'd say Astrophysics books, physics books like the Laws of Thermodynamics. I'll also read books on extremely successful people. The odd finance book. Typically anything that gives me knowledge instead of idle entertainment. I'll also read books that chick are heavy into, like "50 shades of grey".

Also, to power through books with no effort, use audible along with reading the book in sync. Turn your audible speed up to x2 or x2.5 and you will destory a book in one evening. I read 70 pages of "What every body is saying" in about an hour.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Wow that's an awesome tip I'll definitely think about that next time I pick up a book. I'm currently waiting on a few books I ordered the other day: how to influence people and win friends over, think and grow Rich and gorilla mindset so I'm pretty excited for those. One book I would recommend everyone read is the slight edge by Jeff Olson. It's an amazing book although you seem to have some of the principles down already. Thanks for the response btw

[–]LessASnowmanThanAGod 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Cold Showers definitely are a great motivator. It very literally gets you accustomed to leaving your comfort zone. Learning to embrace discomfort is an important life lesson.

[–]10211799107 1 point2 points  (6 children) | Copy Link

Good report man, congrats. I'm colour blind so I have problems with clothes.

[–]Janus_Fawkes 0 points1 point  (4 children) | Copy Link

Find a professional men's clothier. And I don't mean Nordstrom.

[–]10211799107 0 points1 point  (3 children) | Copy Link

You mean stylist or store just for men?

[–]Janus_Fawkes 0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

A person who specializes in men's clothing and fashion. I found mine at a high end clothing store that does custom work. We became friends and now he helps me shop when I need a new wardrobe. The man is a master of his craft. Try to find someone who works independently for individual clients, and/or doesn't have an agenda to upsell you, if you can swing it.

[–]10211799107 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

I definitely need a guy like hat with the whole colour blind thing.

[–]Janus_Fawkes 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I feel you man, I'm color blind too.

[–]LegElbow 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Good shit. Talking and learning is great, but taking consistent action is when the really begins.

[–]1PrinceofSpades 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

It's genuinely great to see how many new guys this is positively impacting in this thread. Continue forward with your successes mate.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (6 children) | Copy Link

I'm curious as to what you do professionally.

They say that our jobs are extension of our personalities - yet you haven't mentioned changing yours during your transformation.

May I ask what you do?

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 3 points4 points  (5 children) | Copy Link

I'm a self educated product and manufacturing engineer. I take someones idea and do everything from A-Z in drawing the designs to mass produced parts popping off the assembly line. I can program CNC mills, I work with 3D printer, design molds, have 4th axis cam system and I source out what I can't do

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

Goddamn you've an awesome job.

What was your education pathway to accomplishing this?

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 4 points5 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

Tons of on the job experience. working with mills, pouring molten metal, making molds to understand the dynamics of it. self taught fluid dynamics to better design mold gatings and pathways. Taught myself CAD through youtube and google. I design in solidworks which is the second largest CAD system. There is no shortages of tutorials.

I basically look for anything that I can add to my skill set that would build upon my current skills sets. TRP is one of those things. It teaches me how to be more social to climb the corporate side of the ladder as my job is mainly me thinking in my head for 8 hours a day.

[–]smartengineer93 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Same here. YouTube is the shit for learning SolidWorks.

You can also use it to learn computer languages. Currently teaching myself Python.

[–]jayem422 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Software Engineer here. Can confirm. Although the best way to learn something is just by doing it on your own. No one telling you what to do and what to type.

Lessons are best learned when rooted in hardship.

Just a medical warning, you're not supposed to take 5-HTP long term it's extremely cardio toxic and fucks with your heart.

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

what's long term? Like cycle every month?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not a doctor but the studies I've read suggest you should only use 5-HTP sparingly for example when you are depressed for two or three weeks to lift your mood, then stop taking it until you need it again (6 months, 1 year whatever). The damage it does can't be reversed but usually only occurs if you start taking it routinely, it's not like a multivitamin or creatine that you can take regularly or cycle.

[–]EmperorAurelius 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Damn. Congrats man. If I can even do a third of what you've done I'd be so fucking happy. Grats again.

[–]IIlllIllIIIllIl 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I needed to hear this man. I'm on some meds (currently coming off, almost entirely off) that really mess with my memory. Hearing your story reminded me of where I was when I started here, because I've really forgotten.

[–]adr007 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

You are an inspiration sir. I will aim to be as successful as you are.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

This was a great field report, excellently written and revealing to all details of your life. A model for what TRP should truly be; a guideline to improvement in yourself and how you handle your interactions with women. It bothers me when people take something written as gospel such as "don't text back for a minimum of two hours." It isnt that cut and dry.

Extremely impressed with your transfromation, I was lifting before I even found TRP and I've yet to establish a physique of your caliber. Most of that is due to poor diet but I've recently tightened it up and am seeing faster results during my current cut.

Thanks for sharing, I think this post is what most people should be striving for as above-average, disciplined results.

If you want to learn dancing, I would recommend West Coast Swing dancing if there is a group in your area. YouTube is great (Michael Kiehm for the win) to learn new patterns. Find a girl and practice. The learning curve is steep for a lead, but well worth it. West Coast incorporates all dance styles: Waltz, Lindy Hop, Country Swing, and a little bboying. All these are exclusive to themselves, but different pieces can fit into wcs but no the other way around. This makes it very flexible to music. I can dance to Ed Sheeren or Jason Derulo all the way to the other end of the spectrum with Juicy J.

WCS allows you to take one dance style and go to a classy place and show off, or a trashy club and accomplish the same effect. All it takes is some work. I would say it takes about 6 months to be good enough to lead a girl who knows nothing about partner dancing and still make it fun for her.

Good article, OP.

I recommend the 2nd language be higher priority. Panties drop when you speak multiple languages fluently.

At the least, it's an illusion of being well traveled and intelligent.

[–]J_AsapGem 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Dude, your post gave me goosebumps and a truckload of fucking motivation and determination... appreciate this so much bro! will be sure to tag you in my testimony the end of the year, but one question, were you gaming while hitting the gym, or did you get fit before you started to game?

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

I started tinder game week 1. I really got into night game once i started getting hard IOI's. You don't have to wait till that time but it definitely helps.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Also, if you're planning on learning a new language, I'd recommend Duolingo as a start. 20 minutes per day, and it can teach you a whole bunch of words and basic structures. You can supplement with a bit of Wikipedia reading, and asking native speakers questions.

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Thanks, I'll keep it in mind

[–]ThaDilemma 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Fuck yeah man. Keep it up. Life is good.

[–]theHuskyElephant 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Can you link me the helpful stuff on posture you've found if you have it saved?

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

search in trp "posture", you will find a ton of great stuff.

[–]nonconformer 0 points1 point  (4 children) | Copy Link

Can you give us some more info on your routine and diet bro? I'm in the same situation as you were when you started, but you look amazing for 6 months.

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

This is actually an alt account i just made. I made a very detailed post about that on my main but I went through and deleted all trp stuff. I might have it saved in google drive, I'll see if i can repost it under this one.

[–]nonconformer 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Understood, thanks. Even some super rough guidance would be amazing, like a link or something if you have the time.

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

It's now posted on the main forum. Going from 175-190 in 6 months

[–]waynebradysworld 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Nice work bruv, ur shredded now but I wouldn't have called u skinny fat before. Just a bit out of optimum shape

[–]jamesbond0512 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Quick question.

Why do you not recommend cold showers after workout? And would do you reccomend them before workout?

[–]Fulp_Piction 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Good going man, keel it up! Riddle me this though, why shouldn't I take a cold shower after a workout? I find they're the best ones.

[–]rrealnigga 0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

Ran into my the girl that ”hates me” at the bars again.

Did you really, man? I always hear this kind of bs here..

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

yes, she's the hyper aggressive type that likes to play fight. Sex usually ended in one of us bleeding

Good on you, dude, onward and upward. I really enjoy your posts.

I think this is awesome, and shows the multi-faceted ways you can improve your life. Physical, Emotional, Relationships, Knowledge - if you get momentum, you can pick up pieces as you go.

Also - in terms of overnight changes... My life completely changed when I got a fucking nice haircut and bought some $7 shirts from H & M. When I started... let's just say that a little went a long way.

[–]1PantsonFire1234 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

I think allot of us experienced comparable results. You did amazing though, definitely an example to work even harder. TRP is the best thing that can happen to you. Amazing how much a thing like an internet community can have on your life.

I doubt any of us will ever forget TRP and that can't be said about other places on the internet. That says enough.

[–]futianze 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

GOD DAMN THIS SHIT GOT ME AMPED

[–]teearrpee 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Do you have example photos of your clothing changes? How did you work out what looked good? Most of the clothes I see in shops are designed for faglets.

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Go on instagram and find guys that look similar to you. I have long hair so i copied styles from Brock O'Hurn. I definitely forced myself out of my comfort zone but it payed off. I'll see if i can get some pics. I use to wear band Ts, graphic Ts, levis stuff. Now I'm wearing more solid colors. I went on amazon and bought some Cole Haan's shoes and chukkas and Doublju has some nice clothing. Just be careful with size when buying clothes on amazon. Doublju Is really small in the US.

Very happy for you, thanks for the FR. One little thing, yin is the passive, negative, feminine energy in Taoism. Yang is the active, assertive, positive masculine energy. A beta male shows too much yin for a man, a feminazi too much yang for a woman. We are developing more masculine, yang attributes, which I guess is what you meant.

would like to know what everyone thinks of this ridiculous article written by women. entitlement and selfishness abounds

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

TRP is amazing, i personally barely found about it about a week ago but my general mindset has done an absolute 360 and i feel more SELF-motivated than i've ever been in the past 3 years (and probably my whole life). It would take me a while to articulate why this is, but i just wanted to mention this much.

[–]nakdes1 points [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

Hey man great post, could you describe what you did to improve your posture? I noticed in your before picture you have your shoulders forward a little bit like I do, and in the after, they're noticeably broader and widened.

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Just search Posture on the main sub, you will find a ton of info.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

My friend, happy to hear you are doing well :) best wishes

[–]nivekx0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

Hey I'm a newbie here, great post! It definetly served me as inspiration. I also did a list of TRP changes I've had ever since I started last year and while they are not as impressive as yours I'm still really proud about myself.

I hope you don't mind me asking but You mentioned "start focusing heavily on good posture, learn some techniques from TRP to do so"

I think posture is critical so, how much different is your posture now than when you first started?

How effective was the lumbar support?

Finally did you use any specific set of resources to improve your cooking or did you just tried new recipes?

Terrific post mate! I hope to read more of your journey in the future

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

I think posture is critical so, how much different is your posture now than when you first started?

It still have to catch myself from time to time but due to working out and practicing it, it's a lot easier. The first month or so it can be a bit painful but it pays off.

How effective was the lumbar support?

It helps out a lot but it's not an end all be all. I really need to buy a high quality chair like steelcase.

Finally did you use any specific set of resources to improve your cooking or did you just tried new recipes?

youtube, search "food tube". Tons of great dishes and quick to follow. I'll pm you my playlist of food.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

can you pm me your playlist of food too?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Great results man. What do you do for a living?

I love hearing detailed shit of guys crushing it like you. Way to go my brother. I am soon going to turn 32, due to PUA/MGTOW/TRP and many other Manosphere techniques, I have gained the following in the last year and a half:

  1. A sense of Style
  2. Confidence
  3. IDGAF attitude, still working on it, I was a real "Nice Guy"
  4. More love for my borthers in the struggle
  5. Putting women off of the pedestal - Like crazy
  6. Getting laid even though I have stopped drinking
  7. Spotting crazy women and cutting ties, even before shit turns drastic
  8. Working out like crazy, 5-7 days a week, no excuse, nada

Things I still need to get better at

  1. IDGAF attitude
  2. Lift heavier
  3. Have a great carrer, need to take it to another level
  4. Not let others get to me

One love my brother.

Awesome review. Very inspirational. Looks like the stronglifts 5x5 is working, too!

[–]StillNotaWizardYet 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Love seeing this shit, broh! Huge turn around and looking forward to future posts.

What type of regimine were you on to get to 10%bf?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Thanks for this. I love reading success stories of people with amazing lives. You guys give me so many great ideas!

[–]Grimardo 0 points1 point  (4 children) | Copy Link

This is awesome, great to see. Any recommended readings, sites etc.?

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 2 points3 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

everything in the side bar and definitely all the book recommendations.

Sex god method

No more Mr nice guy

What everybody is saying ("Body language from ex-fbi")

Those are all the books I've gotten through so far. And a tip to power through them that I just did with "What every body is saying" is to get audible and read the book and audio in sync. Turn the audible speed to x2 or x2.5. Read most books in 4 hours.

[–]brutestart1 points [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

Do you feel like you fully grasp and comprehend everything when you read like that?

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

For the most part. I'm now working on game fairly heavily. Reading body language, etc. I've read almost the entire side bar and working on reading the recommended books. Most of this stuff was an instant click for me though. I had a shitty narcissistic mother so all of TRP teachings pretty much explained my entire life. I had no anger phase, it was more like, "Oh, that's neat".

[–]Endorsed ContributorClint_Redwood[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

sorry, misread your question. Absolutely. I actually find myself retaining like 70% of what i read this way. I think i have mid dyslexia because my usually retention is about 30-40% and that at like 250wpm.

[–]wing911 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

stupid question what is A&A?

[–]ceo_greasyduck 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Even in your first pic you're definitely still in good enough shape to positively increase your SMV.

[–]oorahplays 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

This makes me really excited in seeing my future after taking the pill. I've been trying to take the pill for the past 3 weeks.

Although, I have a ton to learn. I have to force myself to do this stuff. I'm going to be like you one day.

This really makes me want to just shove the pill down my throat. I'm very inspired.

[–]mugatucrazypills 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't agree with absolutely everything in your post so I'll have to downvote.

j/k .... good read, and good to read about people "winning" rather than the usual broken-ass cuckold express on here.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Really enjoyed the read OP. Thanks for the inspiration!

[–]masonstrips -1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Thanks for this post. As someone who discovered this sub a few weeks ago, the lessons have been hard to take, but make sense.

As a newbie this gives great perspective. Saved and will definitely reference.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I remember the advice you gave me on / r / asktrp, you seem like a really cool guy to hang out with. Keep it up.

[–]singeblanc -3 points-2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Let me tell you about my year!!

Don't you want to hear about my nine months?

OK, I'll tell you about my 8 months...
