I regard it as a form of aposematism, in much the same way the certain coloration on frogs warns predators that the frog is poisonous.

How often do you see a girl who is (a) hot and (b) not fucked in the head with off color hair? Not very. I can think of one that I know off-hand. She’s young and did an “experiment” with dyeing a small part of her hair - about “one braid’s worth” of width - pink. That came and went. But yeah it’s never an affirmatively “good” sign.

Realtalk tho: I've known people with dyed hair who were not crazy extremists (just 'artsy' 'unique' pretensions) but that was before crazy hair colors became associated with being a political cultist.
