Bowling, weightlifting, soccer. I'm thinking about gourmet cooking and gardening when I move into a bigger place.

Look out for indoor rock climbing gyms in your area. I got into it about three years ago and would definitely say it's worth it. I'm more partial to bouldering personally, but traditional climbing is fun too. In terms of stress relief there's not many things that are better, and in terms of cost, it may be expensive depending on where you climb and your gear, but all you really need are climbing shoes, a harness, and a bag of chalk.

Motorcycles, lifting, hiking/backpacking, firearms, archery, tennis, harmonica, Jiu Jitsu, creative writing, learning/practicing wilderness survival skills (just for fun), shibari, cooking, etc.

Motorcycling and firearms are reasonably expensive but don't have to be. All of my hobbies provide stress relief for me. I don't have enough time to do them all consistently but usually every month or so I'll push some to the background and get really into ones I haven't don't for a while. It keeps things interesting.

I got into a number of these things by browsing the list of popular subreddits (you just have to have enough discipline to stay focused or you'll end up browsing for hours and accomplishing nothing). Most of them will have a "introduction" or "beginners FAQ" area.

Golf, skiing, kayaking, reading, video games. Reading, and kayaking are cheap. Skiing, golfing, and video games are expensive.

Mountain biking, skeet/trap/sporting clays, fishing, tennis. Hop out on a boat/jet ski/atv/dirtbike any time I can borrow one. All expensive, all good stress relief.

Always been into woodworking, fiberglass, cars, and electronics, so I design and build custom car stereos on the side. Only hobby that makes me money. Stress relief is usually high, I find it therapeutic.
