I spend about $30 a year on shaving gel and blades with the Gillette cartridges. I've never had a problem with either shaving cleanly without razorburn, or being able to afford to do so. I guess because I don't throw away the cartridge 'after a few uses' which seems incredibly wasteful to me. I rock the winter beard from September to January so that could be part of it.
Then in the 90's your father didn't teach you how to shave with a straight razor or a safety razor, because he never assumed the father role. You were just his little buddy.
that feel
He actually gave me an electric razor which is by far the worst way of shaving in terms of comfort. Vibrating dildo indeed. I use it only to trim beards.

That's a great sub. I wanted to expose people to traditional shaving who didn't already know about it.

Sometimes the neckbeards have something to teach us. You dont have to adopt a persons entire lifestyle. Reddit is neckbeard heaven in general.

Merkur safety razor + feather blades + Proraso shaving soap + brush + mixing dish. good to go.

Your face is incredibly important. Who hires you. Who fucks you. What people want to be around you. These are all things partially determined by your face.
People in East Asia understand this. They don't get mad at people for judging a good book by its cover, they think the guy who wrote the book is an idiot for giving it such a shitty cover.
Safety razors are the shit. Blades are cheap as fuck. Buy a year's worth at once and never worry about that shit.
Then Gillette got your grandfather hooked on safety razors during WW2 when he was busy interning the Japs from /r/AsianMasculinity.
I'm the only one, AFAIK.

Let's be clear. Your grandfather and great grandfather didn't give two fucks about his shaving gear - he used what was practical and available to get the job done. Whether its shaving or doing any menial task. He especially didn't pay 50$ for a deluxe shaving blades and creams from a premium shaving shop in the mall so he could enjoy his "manliness" every morning which he reaffirms with overpriced "masculine" branded consumer products instead of his lifestyle and actions.
Also- your grandfather also gave many, many fucks about the horrors of war, because he was a real person and not a fucking Dos Equis commerical.

First of the safety razor is like $20 itself and 100 blades is like $10. So in way am i masturbating by buying luxury anything. As for my great grandfather he was a Commissar in the Red Army and he looted the fuck out of Berlin. So basically I come from a long line of trolls.

Go a step further. I get a better shave cold, with shave oil and a safety razor.

I have a de89l that I use with feather blades for a sweet shave, however I've debated growing a beard. It's almost common to suggest a beard / stubble to increase your smv on here.

If you have more sensitive skin that dries out after a shave (like me), get yourself a good after shave balm, and not a splash like Old Spice. I use Nivia for Men Replenishing Post Shave Balm since it's cheap, slight fragrance that I like, and it moisturizes my face back to normal levels.

I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

I generally rub my face in the fish meatloaf with onion marmalade.
Have you tried shaving with your chrome-plated axe?

If there is anything I DONT need advice on, its my shaving game. Had the ability to grow a full beard since I was 14. While a straight razor is a little complicated, I do fine with disposable 2 blade gillettes. Shaving Cream? No. Shavings soaps? Big yes. Long stokes, not short choppy ones and work from the neck up.

No thanks, I like my beard. I'm not changing that just to get pussy. I'm sure it works though.

I'm in favor of something in between, I like my face to rock a nice 5-o-clock shadow. Facial hair does help give off a more manly appearance.

Then shave less frequently. Science!

Or you can show you're a man and sport a beard.

Or you can go to the gym on the daily sweat profusely on deadlift and not want to lock all of the sweat in around your face.
Or, I can take a shower afterwards.
Personally, if I do a clean shave I look about 8 years younger. I shave and trim and groom my beard often. I keep it short, clean neck, off the upper lip and defined chin. Women seem to like it a lot. A well kept beard is very masculine. Women can't grow beards, so it can never be taken from us.
I never even realized we overlooked the shaving aspect of being a man here at trp. What shaving soap do you like? I have a ton of Arko (they screwed up my order and sent me like 5 times the amount at no extra charge lol). I happen to love it.

The timing of this post is uncanny.
I've been away at work for the last month where a colleague and I were discussing starting a, for want of a better name, Manly Man Club. He had just started shaving with a straight and I have been considering it for a while now.
Picked up my Proraso and brush yesterday and my Filarmonica, Heljestrand and Ern should arrive Monday.
Cool story but the mods just deleted this post because they think men maintaining an attractive appearance is off topic.
Always a pleasure reading your posts.

I wanted to make this post for a while. It seemed like one of the cheapest easiest way for men to increase the quality of their skin.
Much obliged. This post seems to briefly highlight a very underrated and unappreciated portion of TRP. That is the Power Of The Face.
Not that it is totally disregarded, as seen by the consistent use of the term "neckbeard." But it IS highly undervalued. I suppose for men there is not much wiggle room for facial enhancement, at least not when compared with the many options for women. (makeup anyone?) Other than your typical grooming, possible ear rings and a fresh haircut, there is much to be desired in this area.
However, I feel facial expressions deserve to be covered more. Voice tonality seems to be weighty in the general idea of TRP. Voice tonality, when paired with POTF, I feel could be an integral and necessary part to learning frame as well as a general enhancement to your swagger.
Granted, this could be lumped with body language. But I feel it is a little more exact, and a more direct study with experimentation could prove useful.
