Thanks. I just tried sales for 4 years and it's not for me. My results were always mediocre. I'm not a salesperson, it cuts against the grain of my personality.
Now getting into Dev. Hope this works better.

STEM, Cybersecurity, Computer Science
You want to make 200k+ a year at 50; go into the tech industry. Sales and finance won't make you shit unless you've been studying it since middle school/high school.
Unless you are a rothchild trust fund baby; go into tech.

Sales can make some of the largest salaries in a company. Also, many work on commission so the harder they work, the more they make. It’s a good gig if that’s your thing.
I’m in IT and I’m 54. Best years so far were over 300K. I could have done sales but like the technical aspect too much.

What role exactly in IT is baggin you 300K?

160K as a Senior Java Developer and ~$145K from app sales on iOS and Google Play. Apps sales are falling off these days since the apps are old and I haven't created any new ones recent. Also, the app store has really changed in the last few years so small guys are pretty much left out.

That's encouraging cuz I'm about to start a highly ranked coding bootcamp in a month. Did you need a degree formality to get to a six figure salary or just good coding skills?
Also if you have any advice on app creation in the present and future I'd be interested in a general word of advice. Or any other ways to build passive income you know of, tech or otherwise.

I have 3 degrees and 30 years experience. You most certainly need a 4 year degree for a decent coding gig with any larger company. As far as I know, most coders never break $100K.
I don’t have any advise to give away on the app market. It’s a unique animal and changes quickly. Write some apps. Push them out and see what works.
Thx

software engineering, lots of money (especially in the US). but don't become a stereotypical IT nerd.
Yeah everyone is telling me that. Which is sick cuz I'm entering a highly rated coding bootcamp next month. I have my concerns tho. I already made the deposit to secure my place tho so there's no turning back now.
And yeah I'm a jock with brains so I won't let myself become an IT nerd.
try to get as many internships as you can while you study. more internships = easier to get a proper job.
Well it's like 50 hours per week of coding for 3 months. And the final month is portfolio building with projects. After that I can get an internship but most people just get jobs.
