I went out on a date with a girl I met through some friends of friends, and it went pretty decently. The next day, today, I message her with smalltalk and after a few exchanges said last night was fun, and I'd like to go out again soon. I then told her I'm busy until next week, unless she's free tonight in which I could make myself available.

She came back saying she's busy for tonight but we could easily figure out another time. I responded with "For sure" and was decided to leave it at that until early next week but then she responds with this:

"Maybe arrange something with the rest of the gang. I think a lot of people are now unable to make it to games night"

She's referring to a group plan on friday to go to a board games cafe that I wasn't able to attend due to work.

Now I'm confused about how to even respond. Was this her attempt at trying to avoid a 2nd date with me? I'm confused at how she said she was down for a 2nd date and now all of the sudden she's suggesting making it a group thing.

How can I respond to this in a slick way that basically says "No" without coming off as a total asshole?
