I've been taking advantage of free access to the gym at my school. I've stopped worrying about people who dont show a positive interest in me. Best of all I now have a girlfriend who is crazy about me. I do not credit this sub for all that, but it was definitely one of the voices that encouraged me to improve myself.

Well, it's interesting:

I started out really strong. I started reading TRP about April of this year. From then till now, I got a 4.0 in my spring semester of college, I pushed myself to get a summer job, I pushed myself to get a vied-after lab position at school for this fall semester, I upgraded my wardrobe, I began lifting and gained about 10 pounds of muscle and a lot more definition.

But I still feel bitter, and like a failure, and ultimately unhappy. I haven't really done any cold approaches, I admit. I don't feel "ready" to do so or like I'm comfortable enough with myself to make it happen. I can't even "cold approach" guys for friendship/networking purposes. I haven't really made any new male friends that I can just hang out with. I feel like I suffer from some degree of social anxiety and that I accomplished what I have not by overcoming it, but in spite of it.

I'm frustrated at the world but mostly at myself. I was really hoping to do more by way of networking with other men and women I may be interested in. I think my fear of rejection is holding me back, but I'm at a loss as to how I can remedy the situation because "just do it" doesn't appear to be working. I'm not comfortable in social situations, really of almost any kind. Obviously, being a true red pill man requires being comfortable with oneself--certainly enough to maintain friendships and find excuses to have fun on the weekends, and I don't think I'm there yet. I think TRP's the answer, but I just hoped that after about 6 months of thinking with a red pill mindset, I'd be further along. I dunno.

I've never posted here but I've followed since the summer. I've built a garage gym with a power rack and a lat pull down machine. Learned that women don't want the nice guy in a very harsh way. Seeing the truth one day at a time. Thank you guys for the posts and ideas.

Day 1

Alright, I've had a few false starts but I'm ready to go. I looked into some local gyms and found some that are not ridiculously priced. Mostly because the gym (with a weightroom and stuff) I was looking at is run by the municipal government (also features pool access as well at certain times (likely when there is no classes being taught)).

Instead of looking at big commercial gyms you can always see what sorta things your own municipality has to offer. It might shock you how inexpensive it can be.

Pay-as-you-go: $3.50/day 10 Visit Punchcard: $31 3 Month Pass: $67.50 ($22.50/mo) 6 Month Pass: $106.50 ($17.75/mo) 1 Year Pass: $202 ($16.83/mo)

I'm probably gonna get started with a 3 month pass while I look for a job.

Having looked at the bodyweight fitness program suggested well I dont think it'll get me results fast enough to actually be losing weight or building muscle as quickly as I would like. I'd rather do deadlifts and standing overhead press like suggested in A simple Workout and hopefully see marked improvements within a month.

EDIT: Actually I found that the 3 month pass if you just use the weight room is like $40. You cant beat a deal like that. I was considering building my own personal gym but hell a 50lb weight probably costs about that much.

I quit my job as a waiter. I was excellent at it but kiwis don't tip often so there was no way to make more money save picking up more hours. Working in hospitality can be soul-destroying.

Sat down and figured out simple daily, weekly and monthly goals.

I am now busking, selling CDs and playing gigs, making easily twice the money as I was previously. The best thing about it is that now I'm my own boss at 21, and am doing what I love.

Got my own appartment finally. Only took a few days before I had my first HB stay over. Did n't go all the way but next time it's looking very promising.

Was a huge shot to the arm in terms of confidence. I have been proud of how committed I've been at some of this stuff. Not great at banter or smoothe pickups yet although I've tried a few. Mainly I've been just trying to talk to every HB i can, as well as men and basically anyone. Even if they're not a girl I'm interested in, it helps because I'm training myself to just SEE myself as a social person period. Then this will transfer to girls i'm interested in as well.

I bought the bd-7 power rack from way fair. Including the attachments it was around 700. Plus the bar and weights. Took a couple of hours to put together. I'm in love with it.

Day 2

I've got a copy of The Manipulated Man (PDF version, I kinda have low money at the moment). I actually got it quite a while ago before some of my other false starts but only 16 pages in presently. My goal is to finish about 10 pages a day since it's only 69 pages long.

I have to say it is an interesting read to say the least.

I'm skipping out on Workout A and Workout B in favor of the condensed workout described earlier (deadlifts and overhead press every other day for the time being). I'm also looking at /r/Paleo and /r/Keto for nutritional advice and I'm working on planning out a diet based on 3200-3300 calories a day because to put it bluntly I have about 90+ lbs of fat I can afford to lose and I need a cutting diet to start.

I am in a bit of a different position than most, 35, married, and was working out (irregularly, but still). I am the type of man that when I ask people to get out of the way to the door in the subway they almost get scared and scramble out, this is nothing special it more or less automatically happens after 30. We just grow up. And my wife is conservative, well raised. I would not say she is very submissive, but definitely respectful. So these parts are OK.

Yet I had very low social skills and very inhibited and typical bookworm, partially to being an intellectual who never socialized and never really participated in the normal things in life, and partially due to childhood bullying and being a social outcast.

Anyway, I want to tell you, Toastmasters is doing wonders to me. Definitely recommended. It is not just about public speaking. It is more like that public speaking is that one thing that even social, extroverted people are afraid of. So if you do this, you win every thing else that is social more or less automatically.
