If you want man friends online you probably need to game. Personally I'd recommend dota or wow for that (large addiction potential in both and hence same people day in and out). However, these come with social stigma in the real world so weigh the positives against the negatives before you pick up a game to make friends.

I don't think so. I've made good male friends through real-world hobbies. Pick something, anything, and there is bound to be a community of like-minded people who are also into it. Give it some time, and pretty soon you'll be getting a beer after a bike ride, which turns into maybe carpooling to an event somewhere, then pretty soon you're sharing a cheap hooker in Mexico together.

This isn't a good place to find friends because red pill is dangerous to our reputations so we don't want to be connected to it in real life.

I've made a lot of good friends in games, but it is hard to get gamers to meet in person. Voice chat is the best for making new gamer friends. But despite that, I think in-person activities are the way to go to make new friends.

I've made "friends" with people over the same interest. We started playing CoD everyday for about 8 months and then we'd move to other games and voice chat. It's been like 3-4 years. We don't live near each other, so we've never met. It depends on what you want. If you want a real life friend to meet you at a bar, you won't find them by being on the Internet. If you want a stranger to give you advice, support, or talk with those people are hear.

I have developed some amazing friendships online, but they were based around a common point. Most of them were via one website dedicated to a car platform. We used the website as a resource for information. We would talk to each other trading stories and information with each other all over the world. I have actually met some in person and I consider these my closest friends. We may go weeks, months or even years without interaction, but we could run into each other online or in person and pick up like we had seen each other yesterday.

You cant force it. It takes time. Its not like in person. The thing that brings you together online may be the very thing that makes it harder to develop a strong friendship

I don't think online is the best method. It's hard after college. I recommend finding a bar you like. Become a regular. Make friends organically overtime by running into the same people. Ask randoms to play darts or pool and just start from there.

Yes. I also recommend picking up gaming.

Don't just use text, use skype, voice chat, whatever.

Don't just try and limit yourself to one community, either. Go out and really look around a couple of games. You'll find somebody decent enough to bullshit with.

Steam is especially good for this.

That said, definitely get some more face to face interactions going on in your life.

I dunno. It sounds like one-itis. Looking for a male friend in one area. Online connections are fleeting tho. I bet most Reddit accounts are only kept for a few months.
