Very smart people have figured out that the past matters when assessing a person's willingness and ability to have a good long term relationship. We accept credit scores, job histories, Carfax reports, background checks, etc. as reasonable information that other parties should consider before making a financial or business commitment to us.

On the other hand, if a man wants to know the sexual and relationship history of a woman he's about to commit to long term, where the stakes are potentially much higher than buying a used car or hiring a new employee, he's considered "insecure" or "controlling".

Ladies, if you did it, own it. The guy who's considering you as a monogamous, long term partner has a right to know the truth about your past. If he can't handle your truth, you don't belong together.

The three most common threads targeting the red pill side are:

Straw man attacks to try to convince people that N count doesn’t matter when it definitely does (it is even gender neutral). Usually with some “you are just a insecure virgin lol” insults mixed in.
Rationalizations about what women find attractive (See any thread with a form of “step 1. Be attractive” post that is almost always ignored by the op but upvotes to the top lol).
Mind games targeting the 80/20 rule. Never have any counter data (besides those that are misquoted ofc).

Then they make complaints about people arguing that men should be shamed into LTRing the “town bicycle” as if the only women who exist are virgins or women with n counts in the triple digits.

Sorry, women arguing against the ridiculous n count claims here aren’t generally talking about literal prostitutes or porn stars or women with body counts in the triple digits. I think it's fine to have a preference for a low n partner and i agree that doesn't mean you want a virgin. But on the flip side when guys here say they don't care about their partners n count you get a bunch of terpers calling him a cuck and saying his girls probably a whore or town bike. Alot of people here just cant grasp the concept that most people in real life don't care as much about n-count as they do. The problem arises when you define high. I'd say high is 30-40 people by age 30. And that's fine with me.

I guess the question is - what is your threshold for the town bicycle? 5? 10? 15? 20? 50? 100? And how do you factor in age?

If you spend your 20s with a couple of LTRs, lots of STRs and some FWBs, and a few ONSs...it's easy to wrack up quite an impressive n count by the time you are in your 30s without necessarily exhibiting promiscuous / poor judgement behaviors.

Number count matters. It speaks to the type of person you are. The activities of your past matter. Saying the past doesn't matter is ridiculous. If a guy beat up all his previous ex gfs and said it's in the past and that it shouldn't matter, the next girl would still hopefully be hesitant when it comes to dating him. I had no clue what n-count even meant until I started following these forums. It’s fascinating to me that this is apparently a concern for many guys here. I have never in my life had a guy even ask me or care. I have a sneaking suspicion that most guys on here who say they care about this sort of thing have some idea in their head about what a high n-count girl is “like” (AWALT, amirite?) but if he really fell hard for an amazing woman, only to find out she, ya know, lived her life before she met him, he would wonder why it really matters so much... but ofc eventually he’d ruin it all with his irrational jealousy about it.

N count is a poor argument for anything, its character. Due to our swinger hobby my wife has an n count that puts her into the SHE WILL CHEAT FOR SURE DON'T YOU KNOW THIS ONE STUDY HAS IT AT 13% PER SEXUAL PARTNER! level. I think based on her n count shes got about a 534% chance of cheating (I didn't do the math).

Yet if we were to quit swinging, something we talk about now and then as finding good couples is a pita and takes time, I have absolutely no fear at all of her cheating because its not her character.

N count matters when you are dealing with some hedonistic type who would rather ask for forgiveness (if caught) than permission in life and who as little empathy.

N count as a absolute thing is for men terrified of making judgements on their own. They want numbers to justify their actions, even their bad ones, because its gives them that mental assurance that if it goes wrong its not their fault as they followed the rules. I see these types even in my profession, they don't trust themselves to make good choices and are terrified of being at fault directly. In medicine those are the doctors who treat by averages without understanding that biology (and in this context relationships are biology too), never ever lets you say always and never except in the most gross extremes, and even then it can surprise you (Example, a large chunk of metal forced into your brain will always kill you, except for this guy and probably others)

I think you're right about the n count, nobody wants to be with somebody who's taken more loads than a washing machine, excuse the phrase, but at the same time not being a virgin isn't really a big deal.

I think lost people have a limit though, that can be arbitrary of course and depends on the personal circumstances, for example for myself it's five either side. To me that's acceptable I don't want a nun and I don't want to be a prude about sex, it's hugely enjoyable and fairly popular as a past time for many.

However more than five at 40 years old above me and I have to question what the moral compass of that person actually is, like for example is she really that willing to stay in a relationship and work through issues if she's jumped into be with that many more, bear in mind my count is a modest number, certainly under 20.

Of course it's completely arbitrary and it's just as viable to have somebody say that 1 more than them and they are out, but I think that above say 20 to expect either a man or woman to be a virgin, is a bit much.

I’m pretty sure the n count of the average woman in her 20s is around 3, 4, or 5. Most have a few long term boyfriends lasting a few years until they find the right guy and settle down. I don’t know where you find all these double and triple digit n count women...I can count on one hand the women I’ve met with high n counts and they were all...obviously not quite right: very below average in attractiveness, had drug issues (alcohol, cigs, party drugs), shoplifted regularly, were highschool drop outs and came from heavily disadvantaged socio economic backgrounds.
