If you come to a womans sub asking this question you are going to get more "feel good " answers like " it doesn't matter" or "well I'm short so all men are taller" but the fact is your height will be a disadvantage on some level or another. I am 5 foot and I still prefer taller men. I'd like knowing that my husband could dominate the majority of men we'd ever meet, you don't necessarily need to be tall for that BUT it does give you an advantage. Just as men prefer hotness and youth, women prefer height and fitness. Just how much it disadvantages you is down to you and your attitude

Yeh really, asking women a question like this you are just asking to be lied to
What's this bullshit?

Well, I'm like 5'2" so uh yeah... I love short guys cause they're still taller than me hahaha.

Not a woman, but most of the hate for short guys come from short guys. Just check out the daily drama in /r/short
Own it. You can't change it.

My guess is that you're confident around other men?

When you can deadlift 575# it's hard not to be.

Nice humblebrag.
I can guarantee you that your deadlifting talents aren't going to be what a woman notices and decides to get to know you for.
Please clarify - you notice "hate for short men" by whom? Comments from guys or from girls or from both?

I wasn't bragging, it was a statement. And I'm talking about my confidence around bigger guys. She won't notice my deadlift talents but she'll notice the big butt and forearms from deadlift
Both.

My point is that women like to think of their men as " protectors " they don't like them being submissive to other men as it speaks volumes about their capacity to protect them. Height is a very obvious visual display and is why women so readily like tall men but it doesn't end there. You can be 6.6 but if you have the attitude of a little bitch it will cancel out the height. So this is why I made my original comment. As long as you have the right attitude your height shouldn't matter "too" much if you have the right amount of aggression and confidence

Being short doesn't matter at all, only your global SMV does. My bf is 5ft2 and I'm 5ft tall so he's just the perfect height for me: tall enough to get his arm around my shoulder when we walk but not too tall so my face isnt in his belly when we hug :)
Height is only one small part of your SMV, and not worth geting hung up on, it's probably the only one you can't change. Also, most of the short hate comes from the shorter men themselves, frustrated with what they cannot change. You'll also notice similar concerns with race in TRP, especially from indian guys who want to "make up for it", which is just silly. As with height, it's only a big deal to SMV if you let it

5'6" here. My husband is 5'6" too (1 cm taller than me). For me the height is not an issue at all. Quite the opposite, in fact : I prefer shorter men (5'2" to 5'8"). It's the attitude and the build of the person that makes me feel safe with that person rather than the height.

At 5'5" you're still taller than a large number of women and not much shorter than the slightly tall ones. Add to that the fact that your total SMV and MMV can easily balance out any issue most women have with your height and it shouldn't be a problem.
Plus: abundance mentality. How many girls didn't mind your height (regardless of whether they liked you or not) compared to those who thought of it as a deciding factor? Reality always beats theory and, in the real world, you don't seem to be having any issues.

There's really nothing you can do about it, 5'5" male myself. Recognize that and do your best with it. Definitely be confident though.

I'm 5 '5 and I'd be lying is I said I don't prefer a guy who is taller than me. However, in the grand scheme of things, if a man is responsible, is a good leader, ambitious, hardworking, respectful and has the respect of those around him...then height is not something that would be a dealbreaker. There are other things I consider important in a man that override the height issue.
Roberto Benigni and Rick Moranis are short guys who are very sexy.
