As is one of the most likely things in this world, at some point you must have watched Titanic. If you haven't, then don't read on because you're going to see a few spoilers here, although quite frankly everybody knows what happened to the boat.

To give a little recall, in the beginning there's this group of people, an old woman and her grandchildren looking for a jewel in the boat and they find this drawing of a naked lady, and the old woman on board says she's that girl. Rose (Kate Winslet) then tells her story of how she didn't want to marry her fiancée, almost jumped, and was promptly saved by Jack Dawson (Leonardo Dicaprio) and started developing a little frienship with him which turned into a romantic relationship. Anyways this girl cheats on her fiancée, gets drawn naked, you know, a dream "getaway" (not really a getaway because she was still with her fiancée). Anyways shit happens, Cal (fiancée) and Jack get angry at each other, the boat sinks, and Rose escapes. Jack dies, Cal eventually kills himself, Rose changed her name to Rose Dawson and once the flashback is over, the bitch takes the jewels that the boat's crew was looking for and threw it in the ocean. Then she dies and appears in a sort of heavenly Titanic where she's dancing with Jack, applauded by everybody who was in the Titanic. Except Cal, I guess.

What I'm trying to say is that Rose is an alpha widow. Despite her history with a husband, her children, and even her grandchildren, she was still in love with Jack, selfishly claiming that "A woman's heart is an ocean of secrets". That was just hamstering. Imagine how her descendants would feel when they realize that she loves a man she knew from back before the Great Depression more than her own husband and father of her children.

That's an alpha widow, and trust me, this shit happens in real life. My mom for example is divorced, my father is definitely an alpha, and right now my mom's dating a loser who moved in with us because he can't even afford his own house. All the time she coems to me crying saying that she misses my father but she signed the divorce because she wanted him to be happy. She's also angry at him of course, but hate and love come from almost the same place when you're dealing with a woman. If a woman loses the most alpha guy she's dated, she'll develop these attitudes wahich we call being an "alpha widow", and this man will become her ideal of ever other man she'll ever date, which means these women are generally unhappy.
