There was a post over at /r/MGTOW with a request for a link to the video of this duell, including English subtitles. I had one version bookmarked, but it turned out that the video was deleted. I also couldn't find another version but found a file with the subtitles instead, so I re-upped it and added the subtitles. They are not perfect, but I believe a native English speaker is capable of following.

If you haven't seen this interview before or do not even know who Esther Vilar is here is some information:

This duell took place on German TV in 1975. Esther Vilar had published her book "Der dressierte Mann" (It was translated to "The Manipulated Man", although "dressiert" means "dressed" as in dressing a horse) which basically said that it's not men who opress women but that in fact women opress men.

The book raised a serious shitstorm in Germany. For instance Germany's biggest news magazine "Der Spiegel" would call her "modishly-popular manhelper in the gender conflict".

This ultimately led to Esther Vilar being brutaly battered by a group of young feminists and drove her to leave my country. Funny side-note: This incident is completely left out in both her German and English Wikipedia articles.

Alice Schwarzer was (and is) the leading figure of Germany's "Frauenbewegung" (women's movement) which started it's rise in the late 60s and early 70s. She is the chief editor of the feminist magazine "Emma". She got recently busted on tax fraud.

Vilar was percieved as the winner of the duell by the majority in the media.

There are many RP-truths to be found in this interview and much will sound oddly familiar to the ones who've been hanging around here for a longer time. I also admire Vilar for staying so calm and chilled all the time despite the bad discussion style of Schwarzer.

If you haven't already done so I heavily recommend reading Esther's books which form a trilogy: "The Manipulated Man", "The Polygamous Sex" and "The End of the Manipulation". The latter isn't available in English and I planned (and still plan) on translating it, but I simply lack the time just now.

I consider the former two as mandatory reading for anybody in the process of unplugging, especially if you are planning on getting married or - even worse - have already been trapped.

Enjoy and spread.
