God. Damnit. I fucking hate when women fucking ask me to buy them drinks.

I'm not above buying a woman a drink. I've done it plenty of times.

However, if they ask for it, especially if that's like their goddamn opener, it's going to be humiliating for them. I've responded just like you did many, many times. I've been much more rude about it.

At one point, some silly broad (who was quite drunk and already had a drink in her hand) asked me to buy her a drink as I was getting something at the bar of a club. She didn't even bother to introduce herself. Nope. Straight to begging drinks for herself and her "girlfriends." She was actually rather attractive, but fuck that. I told her I'd be happy to buy her a drink when she learned some manners and acted like an adult. Otherwise, I'd feel I was only reinforcing bad behavior.

She threw her drink at me.

I dumped my beer on her head.

I went to the bathroom and cleaned off. No problem. She had the choice to either stay and smell like beer or leave. Of course she got security involved, but I was much more sober and the bartender had my back. The bouncers just laughed in her face when he got the full run down from the bartender.

I shamefully admit I bought these women drinks several times, and never even kissed one of them.

A few years in, me and a friend made a rule one night while sitting at a bar. "Never buy a girl a drink until you've at least put your tongue down her throat." Funny thing was, the very next night a waitress got off work, asked him to buy her a shot. We jokingly explained our new man law... she grabbed him and made out with him for about 5 minutes right there in front of a line of people waiting to get drinks. Later that night she left with him.

The drink ordering part of your story reminds me of the last time I was out sober.

I didn't have a lot of spending cash and was just out throwing back soda waters. This dark skinned 7 makes eye contact with me at the bar and tractor beams her way over to me. I open and introduce myself and she insists on buying us shots immediately. I agree and she orders.

AFTER she already orders she turns to me and says "OMG I don't have any money!" and giggles. I saw the con from a mile away.

I look at her, imitate her giggle and say "OMG, neither do i!" she stares at me sullenly waiting for a crack to show. I give her nothing.

The shots come and she whispers in the female bartenders ear for like 30 seconds. Probably informing her that the usual drink buying scam didn't work. She ends up doing the shot with the bartender.

It was then that we had a completely candid moment. I look her in the eye and say "So that's your game huh?" she looks at me stoneface and goes "Yep. Usually works" I tell her to have a good night and she says the same. Then shakes my hand like we just got done doing a contract signing.

I went out with a female friend of mine the other night. She is attractive, flirty, tall & blonde .... so she often can get the attention of any man she wants. Also note, she literally left her ID and money at home (but brought a small purse with random "woman things").

We got bored at one bar so decided to play a game, where I would choose a type of guy and she would try to press them for a drink. If it took longer that 2 minutes to get a drink I won. I started picking some strange combinations, such as: a guy wearing miss-matched colored clothing, a guy with cargo shorts and glasses, a guy with a tattoo and faux-hawk, etc.

It was actually a lot of fun to do. The scary part was that she didn't fail to get a drink in under 2 minutes once. On our way back home I told her one of my "Life Rules" is that I will never buy a woman a drink in a bar unless I know her as a friend.

It blows my mind how quickly some guys open their wallets for less than a minute of attention from a fairly attractive woman.

It sounds like you didn't want to fuck either of them, but if you did, more tact would help. My favorite thing to do when women imply I should buy them a drink is to turn it around and tell them what I want expectantly instead.

One of the more memorable times this happened a girl came to the bar by herself and sat down beside me (I was also there alone) and said "hey handsome how about you buy me a drink"...my response was "I don't buy drinks for women, but I'll let you buy me one"

Her jaw was on the floor, and we left to make out in her car shortly after that.

Obviously this won't always work, but it will certainly filter out the ones who just want free drinks very quickly.

Great FR. My only criticism is why you'd even reply to her text the next day? IMO, it'd be more amusing to ignore her forever and just watch the Walls of Text flood your phone.

I did want to point one thing out though... I'm not trying to White Knight here and I don't know about Brazil. But, in Europe and Australia, it's common to have people buy rounds of drinks. You're considered very rude in some countries if you accept drinks from a round but do not buy drinks for the round in return. If you're only out for a few drinks, it's acceptable to decline a round, stating that you'd rather buy for yourself because you're only out for a few beer.

Where I live currently, I deal with a LOT of European girls. In fact, I made out with an HB9 half-black girl from Norway on Sunday night and we had this EXACT conversation. She asked me to buy her a glass of champagne and a gin and tonic for her sister. I told her that I don't buy girls drinks, and explained that in America, girls use men for free drinks and that, although I'm enjoying their company, I'm not just going to buy them drinks. With that, I asked her if they did rounds of drinks in Norway and she replied that they did. In fact, it's ALL they do. So, I told her to buy the first round and I'd catch the second.

We did rounds all night and I didn't feel ripped off. Wound up making out with an HB9 and using her for social proof to pull other numbers all night. I didn't get to fuck her (she claims to have just left a 10 year LTR with the only male she'd ever had sex with and that this was way she'd come to visit her sister in America) but I had a good night.

TL;DR: When dealing with women from other countries, you can defeat their Free Drink shit test by pressure flipping it, using their native culture, and asking the girls to buy the first round. This is not a strategy to use on American women.

This can be used as a sort of fun game. You can lead these girls on via their own assumptions. You had done nothing to make them think they deserved a drink from you, but they were expecting it and maybe (in the future) you can even think that way.

Manipulate them via unspoken expectations. Use their schemes against them.

I always think about what I would do in the situations I read in FRs. Fwiw, I wouldn't have given her the respect of a text reply. Ever. She'd have to somehow find the opportunity to put her mouth around my penis before I'd even consider it.

Secondly, if I did (by some huge lapse in judgement) text her, I wouldn't ask her an open ended question like, "excuse me?". That would convey to her that I wasn't keen to her shit test and that I might be slow.

Actually, I thought your "incredible reply" was over the top. No need to be excessively rude. I might have said, "I'm a whiskey guy. Get me one (whatever) and I'll get the next round. Thanks", and kept walking.

I agree and support 100% your choice to enforce your will any way that is reasonable and express that however. My main issue is that girls just generally want validation and acceptance. You buying them a drink can also mean they want to know you value them. Buy them the drink? Fuck no. But, give them another bone if you care. The difference is between dealing with next morning asshole texts from some dumb girl you'd rather not get, and someone who you left either feeling neutral or positive towards you. This doesn't mean go out of your way.

Given the situation, I would've probably ignored the comment about the drink and just addressed how she grabbed your ass - and that would have put her on the spotlight of realizing she fucked up and she isn't getting a drink from you after doing that. Shifts the blame. The difference is one you may not care about, and I'm not saying one is better than the other.
