Haha it's not that serious. The risk is pretty low. I'm guessing this concern was precipitated by Christian Rudder's recent purge of his most cited blog posts? This is actually why I recommend people to avoid citing non-peer reviewed material if possible; it's just too unreliable in a multitude of ways and doesn't have to meet the same (if any) standards for publication. It's a bit more difficult to erase something that was published in a journal.

Also, this isn't the first time Rudder has tried to scrub the internet of an inconvenient-after-the-fact blog post. He deleted his somewhat insightful "Why You Should Never Pay For Online Dating" blog post after Okcupid was acquired by Match.com in 2011.

In any case, archiving is probably always a good idea.

That's a really good idea. I have discovered this subreddit a very short time ago, and I can see that it's choke full of extremely precious scientific content - very eye-opening content.
