I saw Gone Girl yesterday. It was a pretty dope movie. Here's my TRP analysis, with spoilers.

The main thing that this movie is selling its audience is the fantasy that all women are unbelievably, incredibly valuable. When the main bitch (Amy Dunne) goes missing, the entire world freaks the fuck out. Her family gets an INSANE amount of media attention because the whole world is so incredibly concerned about this one women. And, of course, everyone suspects that her husband killed her even though he's completely innocent.

The thing that the (female) audience gets off on is fantasizing that if THEY THEMSELVES were to ever go missing, everyone would drop everything and go look for them.

That is the movie's main "value." That is why bitches are buying tickets to go see it. To fantasize that they are so beautiful, so perfect, such obvious snowflakes, that (a.) men want to abduct them and (b.) if/when they get abducted, the entire world will freak the fuck out and begin a never-ending campaign to get them back home safe.

Did anyone else see it? What do you guys think? There are so many RP aspects of the movie it's ridiculous.
