Vincent Cronin's biography.
The red pill is in the subtext.
Josephine, a 32 yo widow with two children, only married Napoleon because he was a fast rising star and a general at age 26. She married him at the suggestion of a priest to reap his resources for her children.
Throughout their marriage she frequently cheated on him. And only came to "love" him and treat him with respect after he became the most famous man in the world, made himself emperor of France, and had the option of more attractive, younger women of better social standing, prominence.
His second wife Marie Louise of Austria, proclaimed to love Napoleon but allowed herself to be seduced by another man, and abandoned Napoleon and their son, the Prince of Rome.
Napoleon had a lot of extraordinary qualities, but he was a moony sap when it came to women, no doubt about it. His love letters to Josephine are laughter inducing, especially before he became so famous and powerful.

I don't know if he's the best model to have. He was incredible brutal in his methods and displayed a marked lack of compassion and regard for human life.
Read up on George Washington instead. He was a real man of integrity and honor. He was also the wealthiest president in USA history.

I disagree with the comparison - leaders must adapt to their environment, and contemporary political wills. There are times when a leader must be a cold fox as napoleon said, “Put your iron hand in a velvet glove”, and times when he must be a compassionate lion as washington did by holding on to his, and the nation's virtues despite his generals wanting him to become a king of the new world.
Even hitler, despite his genocide, was an alpha leader who could mesmerize his country men with nothing more than his words.
Besides, even if you disagree with a leader's ethics, there's always stuff to learn about their leadership, strategies, and etc.

Integrity and honor means lying and thieving ? The guy had no problems fighting for the British when it suited him. Then he decided to have a revolution so he could land grab. He then teamed up with Hamilton so he could screw revolutionary veterans out of their bonds, which he bought up for 5 cents on the dollar. Afterwards he imposed a whiskey tax to make good these bonds. When people rebelled he lead troops against his own people. Afterwards he made lots of propaganda to show what a great guy he was.
Actually thinking about it, scum bucket Washington is a good role model :-)
