If traditional gender roles were so good for women, how come it is almost exclusively women who want to abandon them in favor of equality, while it is mainly men who support them?

If you believe the neoreactionary Red Pillers, then traditional gender roles/the patriarchy were awesome for women. Women were happier when they got married early to become mothers, they tell us. In fact, I have seen manospherians argue that traditional gender roles were BETTER for women than they were for men.

However, if you look in the real world, women are more likely to reject traditional gender roles in favor of equality. Women are more likely to be feminists and left-wing in general. It's well-known that women are more likely to vote progressive, while men are more likely to vote conservative. Far-right movements are also very male-dominated.

If traditional gender roles were so awesome for women, how come it is mainly women who support their abandonment, while it is mainly men who want to sustain them? Pretty convenient, don't you think?

Why should a woman support traditional gender roles? What's in it for her? A life of abuse and servitude?

Shouldn't the mere fact that women are more likely to want to abandon the traditional gender roles prove that they weren't such a good deal for women? (and they definitely weren't better for women than for men despite what some manospherians say)
