Everyone is to obcessed with "careers". Which is bullshit, career is nothing more then a job rebranded.

It's odd times we live in. People take on massive amounts of debt just to work a job they may or may not hate, just to pay down that debt. Which can sometimes take well into their 30s, where they then try to have a kid or two.

Does single mean "not in a relationship at all" or "not married"? If it's the latter (and I suspect it is) this can mostly be chalked up to average age of first marriage being later.

Link would not open for me. Is that single as in living alone with cats, or in long term partnerships but eschewing the institution of marriage? Because I am technically single but I have been with my partner 7 years and living with him for the last 2 1/2 years. And I lived with a prior partner for 6, together for 9.

Nah, it’ll just reach the new stable point. In the 90s women’s marathon records were dropping way faster than men’s, and people predicted that they might get these crazy short run times by the 2020s. Turns out. Linear extrapolation isn’t accurate in the long term.

Then again, if wages continue to drop wrt the inflating dollar, work days will rise, who’ll have time to date?

Maybe the US will turn into Japan (or China?) where people literally work themselves to death and have such little time to enjoy themselves that they commit sudoku on a regular basis if their work schedule doesn’t kill them first.

Oh and also their relationships are struggling so much that people will literally pay to have someone cuddle with them just to feel some sense of bonding with another person.

It depends on the guys. Guys that can move onto egalitarian relationships will still meet their best friend who they live at least part of their life with. Everyone wins.

Guys who want the submissive fantasy will have to find someone within the dwindling pile of women who can't support themselves.

As a girl in the 70s, growing up and having a career was something that "could" happen, but unlikely. My parents were old-fashioned but you'll still find parents like that in religious circles. If you want to find a none religious girl who needs to taken care of, good luck with that. I was that girl, submissive and all that, and my contemporaries in regards to relationships tended to be a couple of decades older than myself.

Men and women are being divided more and more as time progresses. Notice how 30% of men between 18-30 were sexless in the last year? That number will increase as the youth continue to be more socially awkward over time. Porn addiction is increasing with teenage males and I don’t see that dropping anytime soon. Marriage rates are down and will continue that way. Poly relationships are increasing and likely will rise as women will prefer to share a high value man, even for just sex, rather than be alone. Incels will continue to increase. Marriage will be reserved for the wealthy class.

As a millennial who dates milennials I don't think I've dated someone who wasn't working two jobs if not more. Just finding a day you aren't working is a serious problem even before every other problem in life comes in.

I don’t understand where this correlation between career and not wanting to be married comes from. Men have been in careers forever and for a very long time they were the sole breadwinner. They’ve wanted to get married for centuries, even if it’s just to fuck his wife. Is it that women don’t like marriage and don’t want to be married anymore?

yep. and then it will hit a critical mass once those very same women face the consequences of their actions.

And, any remaining young women of 2030 will probably take a good hard look at what their "seniors" are up to and will make informed decision as to whether they wish to take that same path.

I also predict VOLCEL will become the norm too among women in years 2030 and above like how we have a prevalence of INCEL culture among men today.
