That men do bad things is broadly recognized and parroted by the mainstream media on a minute by minute basis

I don't care shout it from the rooftops. It's true. Men are dangerous.

The issue becomes when society bends over backwards to deny, excuse, and even reward women who do bad things.

It's good we're recognizing men's capacity for evil and the tendency that existed to underpunish it. But it's being talked about. People are addressing it. It's on the radar, at the least.

That women, too, are capable of evil needs to be yelled from the rooftops because people don't seem to fucking get it, and seem to believe it's not even possible! Maybe that's partly because of male thirst, but whatever the cause, it's ludicrous, and it isn't good for anyone.

Those men who were denied justice have mothers and sisters, and some day they will have wives and daughters who they won't be able to be there for as well as they could have if they hadn't been victimized.

It needs, perhaps, to be exaggerated, women's capacity for evil, because it isn't recognized at all in the mainstream. And that's dangerous.

The linked Department of Education study is interesting. When we get beyond who is prosecuted and ask kids who is actually being sexually inappropriate it turns out the sexes are about equally bad.

In studies that ask students about offenders, sex differences are less than in adultreports. The 2000 AAUW data indicate that 57.2 percent of all students report a male offender and 42.4 percent a female offender with the Cameron et al. study reporting nearly identical proportions as the 2000 AAUW data (57 percent male offenders vs. 43percent female offenders).

Also, it should be noted that the Department of Education lumped all inappropriate sexual behavior together (physical, verbal, and visual). So its safe to assume that the male numbers are inflated by reports of male teachers being generally and non-specifically creepy.

I spent my whole life like a lot of dudes walking on eggshells and basically putting a muzzle on myself because every other day someone was in my face talking about how dangerous men are. I was a weak, emasculated version of myself for what's probably a majority of my life because some other dudes did shit and suddenly the way I am is this liability to the world around me.

I see you're only looking for cases where someone actually went thru the legal system. If the complaint is that society or the legal system is biased and complaints from men aren't taken seriously, looking at the numbers after any such bias has been applied is not the way to make your case.

I also see you started off about (a particular variety of) sex crimes, and then pivoted to violence more generally.

I don't think anyone here tries to dispute that most violence is committed by men against other men. Which is presumably a different category with different origins than intersex crimes.

Hi. I don't usually post here, since I always much prefer to remain neutral while seeing the viewpoint of both sides, but your writing style irks me as a debater, and so even though this post will likely get buried, I wanted to respond in hopes you see this.

I'll preface this by mentioning I'm neither here nor there on most if not all of the opinions on the sub, but feel strongly towards the quality of which the arguments are presented.

First, just a few holes in your argument you might want to address.

-Your first set of statistics show [those arrested for] the act. The FBI factbook also shows the number of people as those [arrested] as well. The number of females that are able to get away with acts they commit (especially statuary rape) is something to be looked into. Two of the biggest ones are the Asia Argento case and the Cardi B case. Another set of cases you might want to look into are domestic violence social experiments across Youtube and such. While wholly unscientific, they are notable.

-The site you quoted to prove women being less selfish than men doesn't really show that, rather, it shows that children raised by single mothers are quite a ways worse off. While your opinion is that this shows women are far more likely to support their children, my opinion on this is that it shows majority of the blame lies on the American Courts - during a divorce, there should not have a bias towards putting the child to the mothers and forcing the fathers to pay child support. Rather, the best situation should be planned out for the child on a case-by-case basis. However, this does not happen. As this census shows, 82.5% of the time, the mother gets custody.

But either way, the whole thing with America's custody and child support and prenups and etc is a whole big can of worms that you didn't really go into this time so I'm not gonna bother.

-The survey you quoted to conclude that women are more likely to be abused - the %-based numbers are rather comparable, while men are far less likely to be stalked, it quotes that 32.9% of women have a lifetime prevalence of being physically abused by an intimate partner, with men being not too far behind with 28.2%. That being said, men are actually ahead in this when looking at the 12-month statistic, where 4.7% of men were physically abused by an intimate partner, but only 4.0% of women were.

-As for the study you quoted claiming men lie even more... ((the link is a dead-end so I had to source the paper myself)) if I'm reading this correctly, it seems more like a test to see whether or not they would lie to get a better deal or not? They even mention in their introduction that it has been shown types of lies affect the amount of lies that are told, so it feels disingenuous to use this one study to do the broad generalisation of "men lie more".

Next, the main reason why I wanted to respond. Having seen a number of your posts here on the sub, your posts tend to make harsh assertions when they themselves are debatable, which may explain what you might call "toxicity" and "hate" you seem to get from angry people who may view your point as a command or insult from someone they disagree with.

For instance, your last sentences could be rephrased into "Men and women have their own set of different problems. As such, male problems should not be projected onto women."

Even though you clearly stated to the contrary at the bottom of your post, most of your post, especially the top half of your paragraph starting with "I get it" lends us to the implication that your base assumptions are that men always treat women horribly and that everyone who disagrees are using strawmen. You also use phrases like "constant railing about how horrible women are", which in itself is setting up a strawman (misrepresenting an argument such that it's much easier to attack). Even your post title, "men are in denial" is clearly a sweeping generalisation.

I understand your apparent anger and/or frustration given your beliefs, but I guarantee you, if you present your points and respond to others in a more neutral tone, you'll face a hella lot less of this "hate" and "toxicity" you seem to.

I've read and seen contrary stats when it comes to sexual misconduct and child abuse from women. I'm not prepared to cite any of it so I'll just take the L. I also think that womens crimes as well as stats covering them have been suppressed to a near conspiratorial degree, from seeing Erin pizys experience creating the first ever womens shelter, learning that most abused women at the time were mutually violent to their men. And then getting threats when trying to discuss it publicly. Theres a whole rabbit hole of government efforts to obscure data about womens criminal behavior, redefining sexual acts of violence as lesser crimes when done by women. News reports calling female teachers having sex with 13 year old students affairs or relationships when they would obviously be rape if the sexes were reversed. This all culminates in a cynical suspicion that women are no were near as innocent compared to men as they are portrayed. Again I'm not willing to put my sperg hat on and present all the data I've seen . I've become a lazy redditor that makes sourcless claims. Oh well

I don’t know about the data, you may be right. What I want to point out is that this is a common issue caused by the Media and the poor relationship people have with statistics.

The reason people get the impression sexual abuse of male students by female teachers is so common, is due to the Media focusing and reporting only these stories to play on male fantasies and peek men’s interest.

The same thing happens when you watch the news for half an hour: An earthquake here, a tsunami there, a mass shooting here, a civil war there. You will immediately think the world is going to shit, yet these are everyday occurrences.

ABC had a TV series called "What would you do?", where they film how random people react to certain situations. There was one episode where they had someone trying to steal a bike locked up in a public park. When it was a black man, people called the police. When it was a white woman, PEOPLE HELPED HER. This is just one of the many scenarios where they showed how bystanders favored women. There was also one where they had a couple fighting in public, and when the man seemed to be abusing the woman, people intervened; yet when it was the woman battering the man, nobody did shit, and I remember distinctly one woman even doing a fist pump to herself after seeing it.

Oh but it's just stupid TV show, what does that prove? Well just look at the sentencing disparity between men and women when convicted of the same crimes, it's huge. It is totally undeniable that literally everyone, even through our justice system, is lenient on female criminals. So it is absolutely no surprise that men get arrested more for pretty much everything, and you bringing that up in response to a discussion of one of the most GLARINGLY OBVIOUS examples of society most often excusing female criminals who commit sex crimes, just shows how in denial YOU are.

So, first fallacy is to compare rape with sexual misconduct. The second one is to think reported numbers are meaning anything.

It appears obvious to me that misbehaving male teachers would be reported a lot more than females, while female teachers being sexual will be accepted more easily by the students,and everyone else for that matter since the media do not even portray it as rape. This also suggests that male teachers have much more incentives to not do anything while female teachers don't. I do believe that if there were no social punishment, male teachers misbehaving would be much higher than females.

Why would a man report this, male bodys are generally Not seen as sexually desirable bye women. Outside those that fit a very narrow objective criteria of traits. So a women sexually harrasses a man. Its a compliment. Because it might be the only time that the man has ever felt he was seen as sexually desirable. No one would report this..

Now if there is some forced femdom stuff, torture stuff. I could see a rape being reported. Someone punishing there student in a sexual manner, out of hate for men.

This sub is for discussing issues in a neutral manner and not pointing fingers at one group. This post is not doing that it just tells men to suck up the overcompensation for women because our ancestors were sexist. Furthermore the post partially denies males being raped exist and also just blatantly states that women care more while men are more invested in themselves... maybe that’s true from your perspective but you have to see the broader picture and not be biased because you perceive something differently. Furthermore I’m not willing to have a discussion about this because from other comments you seem very self absorbed and biased aka. not the type of person I feel like I can have a rational discussion with.
