All the time on reddit I see men telling other men things like 'be careful! If you (do this thing that makes her unhappy but definitely isn't rape) she might accuse you of rape.' This is incredibly common on MRA, but I see it all over reddit. They seem to imply that a) false rape accusations are very common and b) false rape accusations can easily land you, the accused, into jail.

Personally, I think this is nonsense. First, to accuse a man of rape means that you have to admit, to the public, that you were raped. This is something many women have a lot of difficulty doing because of the horrible stigma around being a rape victim. Second, from what I've observed, it is very difficult to prove rape. It's not enough to show that sex happened. Only 6 per cent of rape allegations result in a conviction, a far lower rate than for any other violent crime. Simply because its hard to prove anything in this case beyond a reasonable doubt.

I'm not arguing that rape cases should not be subject to reasonable doubt, although thats a conversation worth having imo. What I'm saying here is that men's paranoia about rape accusations is unfounded. In the case of MRA, it might be a deliberate group effort to make rape accusations have less weight.
