I've been wasting some of my spare time prowling TRP. I've come to the conclusion that a lot of the observations made by guys who post on TRP are fairly accurate -- and much of the advice given actually seems to work.

My life was pretty typical TRP story. I got married worked long hours trying to provide for my family but was never quite able to make enough (i.e. 70-90K per year not 150-200K). I neglected myself -- I got fat, became diabetic, and was diagnosed with a heart arrhythmia. My wife left me for a guy who was both thinner and richer. I was devastated -- I was walking around in a haze for months.

I'm not a martyr type and I'm very analytical so I made a conscious decision to change things. I've lost 90 pounds, got my health issues under control, and started dating. In short I've done exactly what TRP advocates (although I'd never heard of TRP when I started down this road). The new and improved me is doing quite well. I've been promoted at work and have no problem getting dates.

I'm a committed liberal and don't agree with any of the Alt-Right BS that peppers TRP. But their core message seems valid.
