I just made a huge realization. I'm a financial writer and have been suffering from "writer's block" a lot lately. At first I thought it was laziness. It's not.

I was focusing on the reward for my work, rather than seeing the reward in my work. There should be no goal. Only a direction. Or better yet,

Your mission is the goal. That's the type of goal a Man needs. No end-game, only a direction to move in.

You were born as a sacrifice. You will die one day. Death is not the reward, Life is. If you're not willing to sacrifice everything for the journey you've stepped foot upon, then the only sacrifice you will ever make is Life itself. Make Death your final sacrifice, and sacrifice all, right now, in order to keep moving in the direction you've chosen. That is when a Man is truly living.

Don't play to win. When you've "won" the experience has died. And what you'll look back and smile upon is how you became a winner. You can win now, and you can win always, if you just play the Game because you like playing the fucking game. By doing so, "winning" will be a byproduct of focusing on the Mission.

The experience you live will always trample on the death of that experience, and it dies when you're given the reward. Make the experience rewarding by sacrificing all to further your direction as a Man. Prioritize your mission over life, because your Mission is Life. You will never truly live until you're living for your Mission.

When you cling to Life and aren't able to let go, you are already Dead. But when you're willing to die for your Mission, THAT's when you're living Life. You are ready to sacrifice everything because your Journey is more important than everything else.

Accept Death, but don't seek it out. Live out your Mission by heading down the path towards Death...this path is called Life.

Accept rewards, but don't seek them out. Live out your Mission by moving in the direction towards each reward...these are the Life experiences that you'll always remember.

Make the Mission your Goal, make the Journey your Reward. This is how to be fearless because the "Mission" is the direction that heads toward the "Death" of the experience. There is nothing to fear when you've accepted Death, and when you're ready to sacrifice all for your mission...because that is what Life is. Furthering your Mission - the experience of masculine living - by fearlessly removing your attachment from all else. This is what Positive Masculinity means to me. It's why we go into monk mode, and it's why we practice self-improvement...because these are Missions. Without them, we aren't living.

There needs to be a path in order for there to be Life. Otherwise we aren't heading in any direction and are already Dead. Accept your eventual Death, become fearless of it, and Live as a free Man. Do not become enslaved by Death. It prevents you from furthering your Mission, which is a Man's Life.

Men aren't born, they're made. You are born as a boy, and if you're not made into a Man, you will die as a boy. A boy has two options in his life:

  • Fear death. He clings to life, but never truly Lives...he is already dead. He is not moving down the path towards Death because he's too afraid to acknowledge it, and so he doesn't move anywhere. He'll die just as he's been born...as a boy without a Mission, who never truly Lived. He was dead to begin with.

  • Stare Death in the face, and head straight in its direction. This boy has become a Man. He is Living his Mission and is able to do so because he's accepted Death. The reason He's able to Live out his Mission, or His life experiences, is because He fearlessly moves in the direction towards Death. This is a Man who gets rewarded in life because he didn't seek out the reward...rather, He was fearless of it and therefore took the very path which led to it. His only focus in Life was that path which led him to the reward that He didn't directly seek out. He moved forward towards it, and that is exactly what a Man seeks out...to move forward, i.e. furthering His Mission.

Women fear getting old which is why they are already dead in their old age.

A boy who fears death has the same fate as a woman. He gets old and "dies" although he was already Dead.

A Man embraces growing old and He does it on a daily basis, through every single experience, with every single mistake. He is not afraid to fail, and He's not afraid to die. He's fearless and therefore learns from His experiences. He maximizes the "growing" aspect of His experiences and therefore He continues His Mission throughout the entirety of His existence, as determined by age. He knows he cannot control "old" so He chooses to control Life, by furthering His Mission. A Man uses His Mission to determine the length of His Life as he knows it. Until a Man's journey towards Death has ended, age cannot deter His Mission, and therefore it cannot control a Man's Life until He dies. It can end a Man's earthly existence, and at that point the Man's Mission must end. But He's ready for that moment. He's fearless to accept Death and continues His path onward. A Man does not "wait for his time." He does not let "age" kill Him. He continues to work together with these two forces - not against them - just as He's always has done. He proceeds moving forward, and He continues to further His Mission. Now old, wrinkly, and with little energy left to sacrifice to this world, He is prepared to make His final sacrifice...His existence among Humanity, who He collectively considers His brothers, sons, and daughters of the world.

A Man's Life clashes straight into Death, and He dies His final Death without fear. He dies in peace because He never ceased to Live as a Man during His existence, meaning He succeeded at His Mission, which was to Live as a Man ought to Live, fearless of Death and focused on His Mission. His Mission never ended as He knew it...it ended after He could no longer know anything, when He had nothing left to sacrifice, and when He arrived at the end of the path, thereby succeeding at His Mission.
