Rep. Katie Hill resigned from Congress recently amid the release of information that she was involved in an affair with a female campaign staffer. The information, along with nude photos, was released by her husband as part of their contentious divorce proceedings.

Her resignation speech reads to me like an "I'm sorry, but..." excuse, seeking to dilute responsibility beyond herself and redirecting toward perceived easy and sympathy-building targets like "misogynistic culture."

While it's easy to dismiss this as a "foibles of women" story, it's worth pointing out that male politicians resigning under personal scandal and SJW distortion haven't done much better lately when it comes to accepting the terms of the enemy's accusation and resigning/publicly apologizing according to these.

A much better takeaway is the difficulty, but ultimate superiority of the ideal masculine route of owning your shit and standing firm to your well chosen ideals, even in the face of SJW, public, and popular pressure.
