I subscribed to The Red Pill last year and became deeply igrained into the lore of the place. I read the Rational Male, Book of Pook and most of the sidebar articles. Rest assured, I was a true believer within a fortnight. However, I was still needy and given the amount of bravado and boasting on the subreddit, it made me internalise some shitty values. Things like I was only a "real man" if I treated women badly, got big muscles or "spun lots of plates".

Since moving on from Red Pill, I have embraced wholeheartedness and vulnerability. I practice a form of self-love and self-compassion which combined with my lifestyle makes me very fulfilled. I don't need sex or a partner to complete me. I can enjoy the company of women for who they are rather than their anatomy, if I feel attracted to them I am unafraid to ask them out, kiss them or have sex. If they are a horrible manipulative person, I don't spend any time with them.

I guarantee you that Red Pill subs are far needier than the average man, far angrier than the average man and more frustrated. That was my experience and being liberated from that makes you appreciate the errors of the ideology.

I joined PUA in March 2010, and a few months on i read a book from Roosh V and found blogs from other red pill authors. Red Pill wasn't as developed and well known back then, but it still was my life until arround mid 2013. Was deep in the whole thing, even organized an international PUA conference and met so called "coaches" in addition to doing red pill (back then it was even more merged with PUA than it is now). Then i left.

If you want to argue that "Being red pill is not depending on a woman for your happiness" and fall for the "No true scottsman" fallacy of how exredpillers were never red pill in the first place, you can preety much stop there because even though red pill advises not basing one's happiness of women they don't practice what they preach. They say they are "outcome independent" yet spend their days discussing which strategy is better to convince their women to have sex or how to "dread" them better. Or how to manage the "highly complicated" task of laying a particular woman. They claim to be against sex for validation yet will make fun of guys who are virgins, will dickwave their success on field reports, will hate on sluts and single moms because they were already "marked" by other men and so being on a relationship with such women threatens their ego and the only real metric of "alfa" is to lay multiple women and if you aren't laying multiple women you're beta. Claim to be against basing one's happiness on women yet all they can do is complain about the shittiness of "female nature" on a "women ruin everything" tone and claim to be about self-improvement yet their forums are 90% about getting laid and tactics to do so. Does that seems like women is not a central part of red pill? Does it make sense that some guy claims he's against basing their happiness on women yet does nothing but talk about them, complaining about how hard or otherwise shitty is to pick up women due to their nature, yet keep constantly sharing tactics on picking them up? I don't think so.

Like red pill would say, "Look at what they do, not what they say". Simply put, they can say they don't base their happiness on women or how "outcome independent" they are, but their action say otherwise.

From what I've gathered from this sub, it seems like none of you were actually red pilled and still seem to be dependent on woman for your happiness.

Those are incorrect assumptions--i can only assume you're projecting. The alternative to red pill is not "depending on women for happiness," its "accepting women are human beings and relationships don't need to be transactional."

I never called myself Red Pill. I came from the early days of PUA, long before Red Pill was a thing. But, I was the same bitter and frustrated guy that most Red Pillers are. Looking for someone besides myself to blame for my failures with women. I transitioned away from it all pretty quickly. It's too frustrating. All the anger, and planning, and living within a silly gimmick like a pro-wrestler. It's more work than it's worth. Almost none of it works, and when it does, it only works on dumb club sluts. Not g/f material. Which is all Red Pillers really want. You can try all the best "alpha" tricks in the world, but you're always going to let that tiny bit of cuck show through in the worst of times, and she'll know it. Women aren't dumb. They're way more in tune with feelings and such than we are.

I'm a strong 5 at best. But, I'm real with women, and I'm funny. So, I get laid. I'm between jobs, and lost my apt. I'm still doing fine with women. I'm genuinely good to them because I want to be, not because it'll get me blown or whatever. Ok, granted I have a big dick. But, women aren't seeing that until I get them there.

Red Pill has nothing to offer real genuine guys. There is no cock carousel or any of that nonsense. Sluts pretty much stay sluts.

With all that said, I actually support where PUA is headed. It's not about executing Plan X154 anymore. It's about having real interactions. The Mark Mansons, the David Wygants. People with REAL names. I can get behind these guys.

It meant giving in to the pressure to be someone I'm not for the sake of impressing people who never liked me before, and believing that cheap sex was the best I could get from women I never wanted.

In other words it was bending over and kissing the ass of everyone who ever elbowed me into a locker.
