Thats fine it's their sub, but there are some individuals that do not leave that sub. They are willingly brainwashing themselves.

As far as I can tell after all these years - these RPers convince themselves that life will always be miserable and unfulfilling in its current state, and they see their current state as being the status quo until they die (unless they intervene and embrace a new life in some extreme way). Remember that many RPers consider "hitting your 20s" to be very old, and that when members think about their life-span they conclude, "Well in a few years time I'm in my 20s and my peak years are over, ergo this sexless existence will continue unless I make a drastic change: it's go for broke with RP, or lay over and die."

That's rather extreme thinking, and I certainly don't want to seem like I'm giving too much sympathy. I'm more of the thought that RPers have black and white thinking: "This is how things have been for my whole life, and this is how my whole life will be unless I make extreme changes." Their current situation in life is, in their heads, their past history and their future path, and they don't like what they see. They don't consider the fact that they've only been young and interested in women for a relatively short period of time. How they feel in recent times has been "the story of (their) life", and they conclude that they'll be sex-less forever.

On the other hand, there's enough young people who say that they almost bought into TRP when they were vulnerable after a break-up but couldn't buy the whole thing because the misogyny was too obvious and unnerving. So there's certainly an element of misogyny to TRP that will draw people in and keep them in, and if you don't possess an openness to misogyny you can't really become part of TRP. It's a necessary acceptance of a way of looking at half the population, and if you don't have that secret misogynistic heart you're not going to be part of it.

As for married couples and LTR-guys who buy into TRP, it's the same idea of "What I'm getting right now isn't what I want, and I'm fed up so I'll go to extremes and embrace a whole new ideology!" and this exerts itself as a form of control over their partner. The abusive, nasty type of control.

These are people who want total control over their world, in other words, and that includes having total control over other people. And these people are unfathomable to you and I, because we can't imagine writing to a group of strangers on a message board: "Your group has opened my eyes and I finally see the world through the correct red-pill lens!" simply because a relationship ended badly, or seemed likely to end badly.

Like Scientology and the Westboro Baptist Church, a few people will leave but most of them will stay. And those who stay will have mind-sets that are appalling to most of the population but acceptable within their little group, and that's enough for them.

We may never fully understand it, but we can understand that some people have the kind of mind-frame that is made for following cults. Unfortunately in my real-life and online experience, people who stay in cults will never reveal their thought process: they have literally convinced themselves that their natural thoughts (in TRP's case, "beta beliefs") have no place in their lives, and they live in a state of cognitive dissonance.

The whole concept is premised on the idea that they are "awake" and have a secret truth. If people come in and say "dude I tried this and my girl punched me in the dick" then the illusion is shattered

Yeah, though I find most of TRP disgusting, it is their sub afterall. Just like how Twox has rules about not posting hateful stuff about women and will delete posts that violate that rule. I think most subs have rules like that to protect their community and keep it focused on their objectives. You learn to not waste your energy - people who don't want to hear you, won't.

If you want to challenge TRP cult members who are on the fence or might actually be willing to hear your opinion on it (unlikely but ya never know) you could head over to /r/PurplePillDebate. But you should be willing to then hear their opinions. Spoiler alert: lots of pseudoscience and anecdote-as-fact in your future.

It's no different than most subs. I was banned from /r/TheDonald from questioning him. I was banned from /r/Incels for not buying into them. Hell, I was banned from Imgur for not liking dogs. People only want to see what they agree with.

What you think of is a cult, is what men call 'mission focus'. It's not perfect, and we can't catch them all right away, but if you're there for other reasons, then you're of no use.

No one is brainwashed, no one is compelled to stay. There is no sales pitch, it sells itself. At any time, you're free to do whatever you want in your spare time. Funnily enough, those 'branwashed' types you lament, they are the ones who tend to leave in a huff, when no one placates their 'woe is me' mentality, and start up random anti-RP communities. Like that women who shut them down IRL, they see that community shut down their childish rants, and look to his buddies and say: "It's ok, she is probably a lesbian anyways"
