So I have a nephew that just finished his first year of college and he came back for the summer a different kid.

Totally hateful towards his mother and and full of anger about women.

I brought my girlfriend with me to their family BBQ this weekend and he decided that my girlfriend was a sign that I'm on-board with his new found world view and started asking me about our relationship dynamic. She's small, quite a bit younger than me, and very submissive.

It was clear he was hoping to validate his new views on life with my own relationship with my girlfriend and I could tell he was coming from some sort of fucked up angle but wasn't quite getting where he was coming from completely because he was being a bit cagey about it.

Anyway, his dad and I were talking about what the fuck his issue was and he mentioned something about TRP and so I had to look it up obviously.

I've been lurking on TRP and MGTOW for a few days now and honestly I'm quite worried about the kid now.

It's very clear that this stuff is quite cult like. I mean they're not asking for money (at least not on the Reddit forms of this stuff) but in most every other way I'd say it's a cult.

  1. Us versus them
  2. Huge generalist and simple explanations about things that are actually complex and complex detailed explanations for things that are actually quite simple
  3. Reliance on lots of anecdotal "proof" of their viewpoint. TRP has a whole category for people to provide selectively culled "field reports"
  4. Holds that everyone else is somehow unaware of the way things "really are" until their eyes are opened

I mean this is crazy stuff. Tons of sudo science and very selective reading of real science. Just the premise that literally over half the human population is basically sub human is just scary as shit.

Also like many cults there's tiny bits of truth hidden amongst all the bullshit which is of course how they get you.

Back in my college days I had a few close friends get into cults and I lost one of them completely so I'm pretty sensitive to this stuff. And I'm genuinely worried about my nephew.

I'm very glad to see there's an exredpill Reddit.

And I'm honestly curious if any of you can provide some insight on what finally lead you out the whole TRP world view. Did you convince yourself something was wrong? Did someone else?

How did you get to where you are now after buying into TRP stuff whole heartedly?
