I was talking to a friend of mine (a theologically astute fellow) about some RP principles I’ve been “realizing” without naming the RP. He mentioned to me to be careful not to interpret the Bible with an Alpha/Beta hermeneutic that I seem to be forming. He’s referring to the RP lenses I’m sure. Everything is seen with a different set of eyes now.

However, the Bible is the authority over all ideas.

“We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Much of RP theory is consistent with Biblical truth, but how do we be careful not to interpret scripture according to an outside idea?
