So I listened to a podcast a friend sent me (I can't actually remember what it was, but it was a podcast for christian fathers), and the guy kept saying the phrase "in love with Jesus".
When I heard it, I just found it really jarring. I am a Christian but I find the phrase quite hard to say - I suspect because I am so used to hearing that sort of phrase used with respect to romantic love.
Anyway, it's also made me super aware of some of the song lyrics at use in our church, and I'm finding myself becoming really distracted when certain phrases come up in songs - example the other day was "I love you Lord, I really love you Lord".
Am I alone in this? Is there a way I can train my brain to be more accepting? Does this say something about my character or walk with Christ that I need to work on?
