Where is the balance between texting too much and too little in a relationship?

I've been with my girl for about 10 months now, it's going great. But I'm always telling myself that with every text I send, she is losing attraction, so I don't text much. Everyone says to not text much, let the girl text you, and set up a meeting, which I do most of the time. The problem is that this isn't the sort of relationship I want, I want more contact, because I miss her like crazy when we aren't together.

She even complained and said I didnt miss her because we didn't see each other for 4 days, and I didn't initiate any texting at all.

Where is the balance between texting too much and too little? How do I stop the mindset that texting ruins attraction? Or does it?
