This man describes what we was going through and his desire to end his life. He says: “What did keep me from doing it was my son … He’d be the one [to find me]”.
Peterson talks about taking deliberate action to go to the underworld to save our fathers, but I wonder how many times fathers are saved by their sons without the sons knowing. Though i've not experienced what this man has been through, I know I've been saved from my worst self by my own children.
Not only do we need to rescue our fathers, but perhaps we also need to raise sons who can be there for us when we unexpectedly find ourselves trapped leagues undersea in the belly of the beast.
