Law #1 of "The 48 Laws of Power" is "Never Outshine The Master." Its placement as the first law has a purpose, because power flows downward. It is necessary to be an expert at being the favored vassal because you will always be the underling of someone, even if you are the president of a country.
TRP is a philosophy that mainly encourages men to be the provider of power to women, versus the receiver. However in following a red pill philosophy, a man's life and prospects will be furthered by accepting another man as his leader. Whether that man is your boss or a client or a politician or another type of leader, it does not matter. If you find a powerful man to follow, and you are among his favorites, his power will radiate through you. His power through you is attractive to women and men alike.
The 48 Laws of Power's first law speaks of what to do when you have found this man to follow, but how do you find him?
My answer is to become useful. Powerful men are always looking for new vassals who will give them what they want. These men have many options, and will only select from the cream of the crop. They must feel they can control you, or else they will select the next person. Would you not choose a loyal servant over a traitorous savant if you had the choice?
Money is often not the resource a powerful man is most concerned about. From my experience, powerful men are most concerned about delivery risk: whether quality services will be delivered on time. In choosing you, a powerful man is placing his own reputation on the line. Do you have what it takes to continue your patron's reputation? If the answer is yes, you are worth a considerable sum to him.
What do you look for to choose your leader? Power is liberty. A man who can do what he wants is powerful. If a manager is constrained by bureaucracy, he is not powerful. The ideal leader to be favored by is someone who has unilateral decision-making power.
Example: 5 years ago I had an appointment with a coworker in a Panera. Even though I am an engineer, I was doing a simple repair to his laptop. I performed the repair as if the coworker was a valued client. After I was done, I was approached by a tall handsome mixed-race (black and white I think) man who we will call LS. LS asked if I do work on the side. I told him I do, but that I typically do software. I gave him my email address and told him I could answer any technical question he had at no cost, but if he wanted something extra done we could discuss it.
Later that week he contacted me about redoing several of his websites. When I was done, he wanted me to build him a dating app. He is a valued customer to this day. After spending several evenings with him, he divulged he was one of the finalists for The Bachelor, and has dated some of the women on The Bachelorette, including one of the winners. He described how he had difficulty deciding how to split his time between -- I shit you not -- 9 plates. I have met a few of his plates and all were HB8 or greater.
LS is an example that super alphas know exactly what they are looking for at all times and will find you if you are the person who has what they want. You want to be their underling because you will learn a lot, and they will give you a part of their considerable power. Be the person who is willing to do anything, no matter how menial, and powerful people will want you to be a part of their team.
