Because everyone wants a philosophy to follow to bring them back to reality. But we often forget that sometimes our perceptions of reality fool us very much. Best to stick to living an honest and peaceful life, even if it means losing every single time. Trust me, I’ve accepted this fact. But the amount of quietness and peacefulness I feel in my life is immense at the moment. Don’t forget we can choose to decide how we feel about anything. The hell with all these dumb ideologies, go your own way, don’t follow the crowd. And we can decide to seek out what is true and Nobel. And we can decide to develop our hardiness of spirit every day. To stick to virtues and our deep convictions every day. Look forward 50 years and the precious time that was wasted, instead of feeling compassion and love towards life. And right now is the biggest opportunity for everyone to abandon this binary thinking. The world is much more complicated than how any MGTOW, feminist, or PUA explains it to be. If their beliefs were actually valid, they would mathematically be describing a formula about the truth ness of how the world works. If that is true, then where is their noble prizes? I say again, abandon this binary thinking. The world is much more complicated and complex. Become a scientist if you really want to do serious inquiry on how the world works. I swear the sense of relief and stillness that you will feel, will be the most beautiful thing ever.

I've got interested in this about a decade ago with the rise in Virgins in Japan. I feel very fortunate that I was born in the mid 80s and managed to avoid what it seems dating has become especially among young people at university or who live in cities.

The main thing I'm curious about this is what's going to happen with career women who are going to struggle to find a partner they deem acceptable and incel men when they get older.

It’s just the human urge to look into the abyss and obsess over things that can potentially hurt you. I learnt a few useful things from the PUA dudes but I don’t think redpill / incel discourse has done anything but rot my brain and weaken my relationships. I bet it’s because I don’t lift. It's only addictive (although the actual mechanics probably are more in line with conditioning) when you're experiencing the uncertainty inherent to any relationship, including the one with yourself, as a threat. Your brain's prime directive is to keep you safe, you're compelling it to go on a never-ending fact finding mission to find more building blocks to your ego-narrative designed to protect you and scout out more potential dangers. It's a survival mechanism running amok, in other words.

The reason I'd say conditioning, not addiction, is because of how this plays out on social media, when you're participating in any of it. Sometimes you will get your views confirmed (Yay! Release some dopamine right now.), sometimes you will get them challenged and sometimes you will fell attacked even, when something hits a weak spot in the narrative. Structurally this amounts to what is called intermittent rewards or re-enforcement, it's why people keep putting money into the slot machines. Social media is build on it too. Likes, upvotes, downvotes - it's exactly the same mechanisms.
