The one that I live with likes to say "you're not allowed to talk to me anymore" whenever you tell her something she doesn't like.
Many women think they are above being disagreed with or criticized because of the princess complex.
When you grow up being told that you're pretty, even when you're not, or that it "wasn't your fault", even when it was, or always having white knights stick up for you even when you should be open-hand slapped across the mouth, you probably can't even fathom what being able to take constructive criticism might feel like.
Imagine, then, the levels of narcissistic entitlement you get when you hand out participation ribbons to everybody, institutionalize feminism, demonize and medicate all of the boys, and launch campaigns to reclassify anything a man has to say as "mansplaining". Imagine how thin your skin would be.

No, girls can't take criticism, only her dad can give her any at best. My ex is a rural volunteer fire chief. She started out with 12 people on the department now there are 2, her and her boyfriend nobody likes. She was chief for three years before she eviscerated the department by bringing her loser into it. They hated that kid so much that they all quit after the town meeting where she brought him on. Nobody in five counties around us that works fire/ems can stand that kid, because he is arrogant while being incompetent, and feels entitled to be the boss despite having a low starting position. It would be different if he were capable, knowledgeable, experienced, and competent, but he isn't.
The reality of it was that she handled paperwork and crap like that, and had the chief position because nobody else wanted it, and she is a 90-110lb girl that can't lift much. Most of the actual work was handled by either me (I wasn't in the department) and the assistant chief, and we fixed her screw ups, took care of the big stuff, did the heavy lifting. Etc.
A chimney fire nearly burns down my neighbors rental house, my neighbor is her dads best friend. The reason it had $40,000 damage is because my ex came by when it first started, told the crazy girl that lived there to call her landlord and drove back to be with her boyfriend. The owner comes by, dials 911 and our two person department shoes up, along with the neighboring department who actually put it out, and her and her moron boyfriend try to direct everything only to be ignored and told to leave as they were nothing more than a hindrance.
At a town meeting the house owner brings up that she doesn't have the training, experience, and capabilities to be chief. He doesn't want anyone else in our community to lose their home to her incompetence. The next day the State Police show up and tell him to stop harassing her, they threaten him with arrest and charges if he doesn't. The meeting was the only time he said anything about it, but criticism of a girl is harassment even when it's an accurate assessment of her capabilities and performance. You can't criticize girls, you can only tell them how wonderful they are or you get arrested around here.

Women should never be fire fighters. It's a joke. If I'm trapped under rubble, trapped in a room, injured, and/or passed out during a fire, I want a man to come save me. Girls can't lift shit becuase they don't have the body mass and muscle configuration to do it. In addition, they don't have the societal pressure to perform, she'll just be given a pussy pass for running away and letting me burn.

Fight or flight in girls predominantly results in flight, men rush in and handle shit, in addition to the physical differences between men and girls.

Men are valued based on what they do. A man who can't "do" is useless in societies eyes. Women are accustomed to being valued simply for being a female. When you place them in an occupation in which their value is in their ability to "do" they don't handle criticism well. They're accustomed to having value for existing. Also mind you it's only in the last few hundred years that women have had to work in the same capacity as men. Evolution hasn't caught up yet

"There is no failure, only feedback."

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It is true. The idea of 'failure' presupposes outcome dependence. If you are more concerned with how you act than how others are responding to your actions, you can't fail. You can only receive feedback.
[–]1grubek 39 points40 points41 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Men are less bound to hierarchy than women. A man can take a hint from a subordinate easier than a woman. She probably felt you both had not enough status to tell her anything hence the constant fighting of your suggestions. She was not gauging your answers she was feeling attacked that two low value (professionally) guys were telling her shit. In her mind getting advice from someone with higher professional status makes sense and probably helped because she was willing to listen as she felt beneath him.
It sounds bananas for a guy, it does for me, but it probably makes all the sense in her mind.
[–]SexistFlyingPig 23 points24 points25 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You're probably right. The two guys were focused on the job and subsumed their egos completely to that end. She was entirely focused on status. For the two men, every bit of criticism was seen as an opportunity to improve. For the woman, every bit of criticism was seen as an attempt to tear her down. Everything that happened was entirely about her ego.
[–]waylandertheslayer 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I've noticed this too, and not just with women. Essentially, they treat it politically ("how does admitting I'm wrong reflect on me", "what political motivation do they have for attacking me" etc) because they aren't used to not treating people like backstabbing cunts.
An inability to analyze the actual content of a message is a huge weakness. One of the reasons why many people (especially women) fail in STEM is because they treat everything - even objective stuff like programming or running experiments - as a feelfest where they try to maximise their emotional gain and social standing, rather than produce something that works.

As /u/CisWhiteMaelstrom beautifully put it here, women are intrinsically valuable, but that very trait makes them replaceable. Any other woman can be used to make babies and do assistant tasks for men.
What you are witnessing is a woman's fear of ostricization. To prevent this, she'll feign a smile with everyone she meets, apollogize more than necessary, 'play nice' as to not cause any trouble because she is very replaceable. When 'trouble' to her image occurs, her first reaction is to deflect responsibility. When an unnecessary, replaceable member starts causing problems, and looked upon in a logical light, that member is subject to eviction. This is her ultimate fear. Women are not built to take care of themselves, especially when pregnant. This 'play nice' and deflection of responsibility is an attempt to make herself look valuable to the tribe at all times despite evidence to the contrary. But to do that, logic doesn't help her cause at all, so she'll use shaming tactics and cry to provoke your primal sympathetic tendencies for women, to put her on a pedestal, make you perceive her as more valuable than she really is.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
If women are the bottleneck of offspring, every woman is valuable to the tribe. Besides, a woman could raise her value through crafting, cooking, gathering or raising her kids well.
See for example the description of a virtuous wife in Proverbs 31.

Women shouldn't be doctors anyway. Not that there are not those who are smart enough, etc., but when you look at the costs to society of educating doctors and then how many women leave practice or return only part-time after kids, it's not particularly worth it.
Women suck at taking criticism, and they can never be "wrong" or "at fault" which is what happened in your example. The Hamster will find a way to ham its way out of it.

Men and women need to do their part to be better human beings and create a world where our children can be at peace and able to make new discoveries.
And forcing incompetent and undeserving women into positions they don't deserve, through a quota system, all the while denying positions to competent and innovative men, is going to help us achieve this is it?
Actual capable women out there should of course be encouraged, but that isn't the current status quo. The current system we have is one of putting appearance of diversity before actual results. Hence an incompetent woman or a negro will get the job before a man.

For me personally.. when I start a job I look my boss in the eye and say "At any time if I mess up or you think I could improve.. tell me right away.. I will be HAPPY that you take time to help me improve"
I mess up occasionally, hell I'm human, I may not realize I have and my boss telling me that isn't a stab at my personality.. he just wants competent workers like I would in his position. Most times after he points something out I missed we start laughing about it and I fix it with a smile on my face.

Some women can handle it - those who are intellectual and skilled. They are few but they exist. If they were raised right, by a strict but loving father to push down those emotions and deal with the truth and the job to be done, even little girls cleaning up their toys at age 2 or 3, it becomes a new life instinct.

I had a very frank conversation with a friend at his wedding, of all places.
The guy was in his final year of medical residency, and I asked him about the gender breakdown of his resident group. It was about 25% female. I asked him, how do they perform relative to the men?
At this point he leaned in, looked around, and lowered his voice. "As far as skills, they're alright. They're never the best, but they're competent enough. But the attitude? Jesus, man... Every single woman in my program has a massive chip on her shoulder. It's like they spend all day trying to justify the fact that they're in the program. And worst of all -- they can't take any criticism. They always make fucking excuses. It's infuriating, especially when I have to work sight them. God."
I nodded. "Sounds about right."

is crazy amy really the best example to show though ahaha she's a nutter :D
There's a really positive redpill trend towards thinning the herd of women who have access to medical school. I participated in a clinical premed internship in California which is integral for gaining acceptance to SoCal med schools. Redpill men have infiltrated all of the recruiting positions and we all made the decision to ensure the program never exceeds 1/5 female participation rate. For every 25 men we only allow 5 girls to slip through the cracks. I foreshadow this becoming the norm nation wide as more men swallow the pill and start reclaiming what's rightfully theirs.
How many times have you heard, "Don't talk to me again"...just for calling them out on their bullshit
A soft next is my way of handling things now but before I would call them out and 99% of the time got some form of this answer

"Women can't take feedback" You are generalizing, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hasty_generalization also gordon ramsey sometimes behaves like a cunt when he gives criticism. I am reading a book now written by a psychologist called difficult conversations.. Everything depends on how you deliver it. You can deliver criticism without anyone becoming defensive..

Generalizations are a great time saver. I refuse to water down a point by prefacing it with a million qualifiers, contexts, and exceptions.
As far as delivering criticism without anyone becoming defensive; how do you go about telling a girl she's getting fat?
[–]Senior Contributorcocaine_face 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I haven't found a way to do that in 30 years. I don't suppose a way exists.
I got it down pat. If her weight is my problem I tell her "you're too heavy, come on, this is not working"
if it's not my problem I say nothing because I give no fucks.
In fact I only ever had 1 fat girl as a plate and I never had to tell her. It was obvious, she knew and she's not stupid so she doesn't need to be told.

Generally, we all assume that generalizations are not universal but still representative of the majority. So, so what if he made a generalization? Nothing wrong with that.
[–]hebola4lyfe 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Generalizations are not false .
Just because you use the word " generalizing" doesnt mean the concept in question is a lie.
In fact, a generalization is 95% true . That 5% makes it a generaliztion because we can't call it a complete "fact" .
