The great biologists and psychologists all tell us the importance of male security in the lions den, the pack of wolves, and the various other organisms. A female often seeks security from a male due to cruel ways nature has of harming its creatures. The female chimps longs for the alpha, but since he is high competition, he has more flexibility. The same thing with a lionness, the elephants, buffalos, everything revolves around the circle of life and in sustaining this circle and guaranteeing life and well being for her offspring, she seeks, above all, a man who can provide her with security. A caregiver. A protector.

There are three types of men. The one who can take care of himself and himself only, the one who has the ability to take care of himself and a family, and the one who can neither take care of a family not himself. My uncle, for example, can really only take care of himself, he’s gotten two divorces and no children. He works all day and runs a company like a madman. Pure workaholic. Although he may be financially sound, he cannot provide a woman the emotional security she needs. And although he had had two wives, he may have physically been there but emotionally he was cold and arrogant. And so my foolish uncle became victim of an inevitable divorce. He believed fortune would be kind to him on the second marriage but alas that came to shambles as well. And therefore my poor uncle’s genes will perish, leaving him an evolutionary dead end.

Physical and emotional security are the instinctual drives of the female mind.

With men, the priority is fertility and caregiving, in other words, motherhood. “Is this woman capable of bearing strong children and raising them well?” thus speaks the animalistic part of man. And when a man has found a woman who is valuable in terms of reproduction, he sooner than later realizes that suddenly there are many men competing with him, they all long for the fertile woman because in the deepest recesses of their minds, they are conscious of the force that drives the procreation of the species and make moves to suddenly seize it before anyone else can. This is an example of what Darwin calls “Sexual Selection” and within it lies the logos of our sexual existence and our sexual drives.

Look at a baboon’s mating season and if you look carefully enough, you will see the primitive foundation of our own sexual selection. Although it may hurt to perhaps think of ourselves as “evolutionary dead ends” it is important to keep in mind the way nature works herself, unpredictable. Nature is both cruel yet also fruitful. And so one shouldn’t be upset with seeing themselves as an evolutionary dead end. Those individuals often are geniuses and great artists with an odd yet special gene. Of how many greats have existed who did not bear children! And yet now you see how nature works in mysterious ways.
