Maybe I’m reading too much into things but it seems like a lot of people link high n counts to hypergamy and even cite them as evidence of such. This makes objectively no sense. If hypergamy is only wanting to mate with the best and wanting to trade up if better comes along, high body counts just aren’t a logical conclusion. 1. There are only so many “top” men to go around (and not every woman can get them) and 2. It’s extremely improbable that a woman is always “trading up” from her last partner if her count is high.

Slight journal entry: I have an n count of 2. A lot of men would say it’s this low because I’m ignoring my hypergamy. That’s absolutely hilarious; it’s this low BECAUSE of my hypergamy. I haven’t come across a man better than my last partner so I’ve been happily celibate. To get a high count, I would have to be attracted to and fuck men I consider lesser than him. How is that any kind of indication of hypergamy? Spoiler alert: it’s not.

Obviously I’m not denying that there are women with high counts (although they’re definitely not as common as guys proclaim) and I’m not saying that those women aren’t hypergamous. The fact of the matter is that body count is not in any logical way linked to it.
