I am reading the Book of Pook and got to the part where he talks about how "Perfect is boring. To be human is beautiful". He gives the example of how someone like a lawyer that goes to the gym all the time is boring. Women want to be around fun, exciting, spontaneous guys. This got me thinking about some examples of players like Hank Moody in Californication where these guys don't try to control everything in their lives. You won't see Hank Moody waking up at 6 AM and going to the gym and being a workaholic - his whole appeal goes back to his carefree, childlike, in the moment attitude toward life. Even in the movie Fight Club, Tyler Durden talks about letting go and just not giving a fuck about anything. This has made me confused because TRP preaches self improvement aspects like meditation, healthy diet, exercise, work hard on your goals, etc. while this conflicts with the DGAF and be human attitude discussed in Book of Pook and seen in guys that are natural players. How do you live this 'monk mode'/disciplined lifestyle while also letting go, living in the moment, and having a DGAF attitude? Think about a guy that works out a lot, works on his career goals, eats healthy, meditates, and focuses on self-discipline. It's easy to see how this kind of guy would seem 'boring' in a social environment, while a high energy guy that parties a lot would be seen as more 'fun' and 'exciting' to women. So how do you balance these two elements of TRP to be a well rounded guy?
