It’s a phenomenon that I especially notice in the workplace, I notice that people with casual names get treated with more initial respect than people with harmless sounding “virginy” names despite work ethic or ability.

The reason I think that this nature exists goes back to your parents and livelihood growing up. The popular alpha kids in school came from alpha families and parents, who don their children names that represent alpha characteristics. “Chad” is a universal example of this.

Usually the sheltered and stunted kids had names that are odd and uncool sounding (i.e Gilbert). These were the ones who got bullied and belittled by the alpha chads. These names suggest the parent’s harmless lifestyles of churchgoing and conformity. Which is why I theorize that they actually matter in social situations.
