This is not sneaky, it's overt. Marriage is heavily promoted by the powers that be. Married men are easier to predict and control.
The most disrespectful example is in death. When a man dies what is the first thing they say? "He was a father, a husband." Nevermind that the wife hated him and the kids were accidents. They list these things as if they were accomplishments when there's a decent chance they were the opposite.
[–]HerdOfBuffalo24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Married men have more kids. That tax structure was created to propagate American children.
[–]Infinitewisdom1984[S] 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I meant sneaky in that it's not directly called a "Bachelor" tax and that the same retards who complain that women make no money will say "buT tHeY'rE tAxInG wOmEn tO0" even though it's primarily single men who make that kind of money when you move up the brackets.
[–]HerdOfBuffalo7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
“Single” applies to women too.
And the wage gap is a myth. Both sexes pay extra for being single.

Pretty sure that if that info is tracked, it’s not public. Would be curious to know, though.
[–]HerdOfBuffalo-2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
That’s not an easy answer. If you control for the fact that women work less hours, and that they have time off for children, etc., then women actually make more than men for comparable experience at the same jobs.

Silent way for government to make sure men don't stop marrying but you can save more from MGTOW philosophy than bachelor's tax.

This cant be california tho. Im single making 62k a year but I pay roughly 35% in taxes. Before takes I make about 5.2ish k last I looked and after taxes I make about 3.2k so about 2k a month I never get to even see. And I dont pay into anything medical either (yep too expensive for me to afford healthcare and live in cali. I severed the tendons in My finger and lost all movement there. I could not even afford to go get it pached up. I didnt have a few hundred laying around to even start the process to save my finger). There are times when I envy married dudes because I hate taxes. They literally take too much of my hard working money and expect me to live on what? When a god damn studio to rent costs upwards of 1k+ a month....i get taxed out of my ass. After bills and food I have nothing. I resorted to eating some canned food for lunch at work just to save money. And 62k puts me in the top 15% of american earners. What the hell is this shit man?
[–]RememberGoliad183614 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That’s because your communistic state charges you state income tax. This chart here is the federal tax you pay. So whatever bracket your in, add on top of that 1-13.3% that California takes. And I’m not sure they may have other taxes.
[–]Kotaro-Atani5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
it's probably because you live in Cuck Land California... the Largest Democrat Haven.
4.76% Tax rate for GA (my state, Georgia) for Your Salary, (highest marginal tax rate 6%), with Federal taxes (22%) Combined= 26.76% (Max Tax rate= 28%)
I see about 26-27% for state and Federal taxes combined, so that's about right.
7.25% Tax rate for CA (your state) for Your Salary, (highest marginal tax rate 13.3%), with Federal taxes (22%) Combined= 29.25% (Max Tax rate= 35.3%)
I guess your getting the Hammer at Max Tax rate= 35%
oh Yeah a Studio to rent here is more like $500-600 a month, Give or Take =/-
When I used to pay a mortgage it was like $1k a month for a Townhouse, 3 Br, 2 1/2 bath, 1800 sq Ft'
When I was married, I had a huge 4 Br, 2 1/2 bath, 1800 sq Ft' house, and that was like $1200 a month.
This is why people are Moving out of Cuck Land AKA California. Nice place to visit, San Francisco, but I am not gonna live there, by the way they have Life time Alimony there, but your MGTOW so I know you are not gonna get Married. :)

Hmm...perhaps I'm missing something here, but if both members of a couple make $80k then their collective $160k is taxed at 22%. If a single makes $80k, then their $80k is taxed at 22%. So what's the big deal here? If one member of a couple makes $160k and the other makes nothing then...taxed at 22%. Members of a couple can also file separately as well - still 22% if each makes $80k.
Any specifics as to why the tax table in the graphic would be biased against singles welcome.
[–]o0perfect0o2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
all I know is that the rest of the money the couples are not paying in taxes, they are spending on bullshit like Diapers, a television set for every room, dates, kid clothes, school fees for kids, etc.
Not like they're saving anymore necessarily. I'd rather be taxed more and live frugally, while staying single.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Exactly. Married people file one tax return with combined incomes of two people while single people file one tax return for their own income.
Each individual has their own tax deduction so married couples filing jointly would have that tax deduction for two individuals credited against two combined salaries.
[–]Starcruiser280 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If a single makes $80k, then their $80k is taxed at 22%.
You need to look at the initial withholding, if the guy makes $180k and the women makes say 40k her initial withholding is like 12% max, where the guy is paying like 24% max, where they get you is when you combine the incomes when filing, you end up falling short of the required tax payments since you are now at $220k, all of her income would be taxed in the 24% bracket.
They still get you if you are not paying attention, especially now since the deductions have changed.

The current tax system will punish your success.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't necessarily have a problem with giving tax breaks for marriage...what I have a problem with is welfare for single mothers and rewarding bad life decisions.
Besides, if those 2 people didnt marry they could collectively make double anyways. If anything this is a marriage penalty, but only if you are super wealthy. Don't get me started on the money back they get for each kid though. People at work brag about their $5k they get back...but hey they are all still living paycheck to paycheck.
I would increase goveremt benefits for people in their first marriage and only their first marriage. Encourage responsible behavior instead of hedonism and chasing tingles.
[–]Zilo881 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I still come out ahead by staying single.
[–]Uranus_Opposition1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You didn't post the head of household tax rates which is where it really would show up. Years ago they had a marriage penalty and that got "fixed."
Throw EIC and child tax credit in there for good measure.
My guess is you really didn't understand what you were talking about and just wanted to be angry about something.
[–]NoCharism1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
in the end the single guys still have more money in the end of the month, because theres no woman around to tell them how to spend the money lel

those sneaky snakes
[–]FindingKeeping0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If men keep marrying govt can keep ruling them.
[–]the-lone-squid0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's nothing.
Child tax credit, earned income tax credit, do you get these?
If not then you're getting taxed more by not getting deductions
[–]GrisBosque0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
And before WW2 there was no Federal income tax... and they promised it would be temporary and kept at a couple percent....
We used to have property rights too! Now we have Property taxes, zoning, building codes, and fees....
Funny.... I lived in Eurpoe as a kid... walking on streets with houses and buildings hundreds of years old...
The architecture harmonized, very beautiful, and nobody needed to pay a building inspector to accomplish all that...
They just all did the best they could, because it was for them.
Beware: any time they say its for your safety or benefit; its for them to extract money and control you, and reduce your potentials...
[–]FightClubHamster690 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I noticed that “being single” is almost always associated with men and even to the point where being single means you get taxed more, the tax bracket is pretty clear evidence of this
[–]BlackFire680 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The married filing jointly is exactly twice the single in most cells in that sheet. The difference is at the top end, where the single gets a massive advantage. How is this biased toward married people today? (Married people rate is for two people, therefore double)
[–]user_miki0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So if she is not working you pay more than being single.

[+]wathon2-10 points-9 points-8 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
not quite a bacherlor tax since single women also affected.
[–]Infinitewisdom1984[S] 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Single women barely constitute any reasonable percentage of high earners - single, high earning men pay the most in taxes (plus those on the lower earning side have a plethora of write-offs - I once witnessed a woman who made $30k per year pay around $8k in taxes and was given back over $10k, all her money and then some, because she was a single mother).
[–]Uranus_Opposition2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Single Mothers or single Fathers don't use the Single/MFJ rates they would most likely use HOH rates and you did not post those. Throw in EIC and CTC to boot. You need some technical editing for sure.
[–]Islamrightaboutfems12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Fucking lol and how many of these "single" women have children??? And thus have tax exemption from having children?? And how much money these women make??
Men are net taxpayers and women are net government benefits recipients, thats a fact, cuck.
[–]Uranus_Opposition0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Exemptions do not exist in the current tax code. Congress got rid of them for now. Did you mean something else?
[–]Islamrightaboutfems1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
In the country I live they do.
