The first time I saw it posted it seemed kinda creepy, but then upon re-read it's just asking a legitimate question, which is a cultural question on how to date someone in a different culture.

Nothing different than how gold diggers ask how to meet millionaires, and what gym they go to, and what bars.

It may "seem" creepy, but it's legitimate questions. Maybe you disagree on the face of it because of your social programming, but it's just questions without any additional words to make is "wrong".

Nothing seemed "nice guy" about it.

Those subs are cancer. Every now and then I'll peak and see because it's on the front page. But majority of the posts aren't "niceguy" material as their sub defines the term.

It's supposed to be posts of guys lashing out after they got rejected while calling themselves niceguys, but most of the material can range from anything like what's in the op.

Basically shaming and bullying guys for being men. Not to mention a lot of those texts messages they post on there have a lot context missing.

If anyone is curious why some guys lash out, there was a trend on Twitter a few weeks ago where women were clowning guys for dming them or laughing at how they placed guys in the friendzone.

As for the post itself I get what he's asking, but I personally wouldn't ask like that. In any case it's not bad enough to clown the guy

Perhaps more info is needed - like if he wants a girlfriend that implies he might be Japan for longer than a holiday (or plan to build a life eventually).

But instead the assumption is he is a sex tourist. But he wouldn’t be asking how to meet a legit Japanese girl rather than a SW if that were the case

My guess is that they take umbrage at the use of the term "female," as they believe it is somehow not seeing women as people. Never mind that using the term "male" is used equivalently, and there do not appear to be complaints that men are not seen as people.

There is no guilt in trying to date anyone in a different county. R-niceguys can get so worked up over such nontroversies. I would just hope he does not expect too much success, as cultural differences can be quite a lot to overcome. Also, nothing is so special about women in another country that they will be the answer to finding a good woman. Granted there will be far less cases of single moms or overweight women in Japan, but a Japanese female dating a non-Japanese male is not likely to be traditional. So if the goal is to find a traditional woman, that strategy will probably fail.

Just being a Caucasian in Japan and going to some of the bars around town will at least net looks and stares. I doubt this guy would be able to pick up the queues, but it at least should be marginally easier to get laid in Japan since you'll get the attention of the Japanese sluts with a fetish for exotic guys. It's not super rare to see Caucasians around Tokyo, but they're definitely in the minority.

I mean to be fair, if someone can EASILY tell you're an American, you should have no trouble finding a "single female". Hell they'll even approach you, honestly. But it is a legitimate question because I'd be extremely cautious about dating in other countries as a tourist. There's a lot of women who will prey on them.
