Spot on. I've use this to counter all the feminist trash in my city (all hardcore socialists, its bad) and their immediate reaction is to scream and call me a "women hater" or flat out block me. I ask them for facts and they just act like children. The majority of the left wing in a nutshell

This sub is one of the only places on reddit that i have seen a comment favoring the right upvoted by people bedsides the donald. I guess if you can see through the high grade bs women and lies women create you can see through the political bs too.
[β]grizzer9932 points33 points34 points 4 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link
It absolutely does. A lot of us are generally right wing. Myself being a right wing libertarian. But there are a few moderate leftists I've met here. Still great guys. Nothing like the statue toppling freaks in masks you see in the media. Essentially old school liberals
[β]teebone95424 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Lol yeah i dont even mind some differing opinions but i hate that one sided act reddit plays like the country didnt vote in a republican or like anyone who does lean right deserves all the bad things that could ever happen to them.
[β]grizzer9919 points20 points21 points 4 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link
Very true. Reddit is mostly leftists unfortunately. And a lot of times, we get shit and on doxxed for being right wing. Exactly why we mostly keep our views to one area. That and hide all our personal information of course. But there are some really narly leftists that stalk us. You see the stories all the time on r/TheDonald. I don't mind leftists most of the time. But when they threaten and doxx us, that's generally when my respect for them goes out the window
[β]teebone95412 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Yeah ive seen all the stuff about the doxxing going on. I dont really post in that sub or say much so hope id be good.
[β]grizzer998 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You really gotta watch yourself on this side of reddit too. Most of mainstream reddit has a serious problem with us and how we opted out of the dating scene. Generally why I stick to the more male friendly subs
[β]teebone9548 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah thats true. Im pretty new to it but this sub is really not that extreme like redditors want people to think. Its Subscribing to some memes exposing double standards and articles exposing things that really do deserve it. The thing that makes the shit posted here so offensive is that most of it is so true.
[β]grizzer998 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
They like to shit on r/MensRights a lot too. Anything remotely male is toxic or "male supremacists" as wikipedia calls us. The left does not hide their narrative at all. Watch yourself mate. All really good communities but the threat of doxxing is high

I'm pretty extreme left wing. I don't like parasites, living off my work, whether it's women or my landlord(often their airheaded, stuck up daughters who "manage" their daddies properties.). I think we should all be entitled to the product of our labour.
[β]LegacyAccountComprom2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
That doesn't sound like extreme left wing.
That sounds right wing.
Objectivist/Libertarian kind of stance.
[β]aesu0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Pretty sure they believe in private ownership of other people's labour.
They also rely on a non aggression principle, which is madness because you're going to have to use aggression to get people to stop taking stuff you "own". At which point you need a private army. Which you're inevitably going to use to take other people's stuff, so they need private armies as well. Except theyre not really your army if they can be bought out from under you. So youeed to breed loyalty via some sort of ideological system md mythology around your "people". Which sounds a hello a lot like the pre-capitalist world we fought so hard to replace.
[β]7Lazarus60 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
The NAP allows for self defense and defense of property. No private armies needed. And even if there was a private army, why would it be inevitable that they would rob other people? I don't follow that.
Not being a jerk here, just talking.
[β]aesu0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
A private army would be required for "self defense" of property. How else would a corporation defend its property?
And tragedy of the commons would ensure someone would use force to rob people. You can see basically all of human history, right up until today, for evidence of this. Thus, you end up with an arms race, where military might becomes the most efficient way of acquiring property and labour, and again, it just looks like society looked before we developed these systems to stop this problem; an unpleasant, highly militarized landscape of almost constant war.
[β]7Lazarus60 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Welp, corporations only exist at the behest of the government.
Your second paragraph is describing a government run army, not private.
[β]aesu0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Whatever you wish to call large organisations. Or do we not have any economic products which require economies of scale to produce under libertarianism?
And my second paragraph describes an army. Again, calling it a government army doesn't mean anything. Histotialy, there are more examples of armies following a private individual yo war for the sake of riches, than there are going to war by decree of the governing body.
You seem to be arguing definitions without being clear on what you're arguing. You believe some properties of the things w call corporations and government are responsible for their behaviour, but do not divulge what they are. You can't hang on words. What structural changes would prevent the private ownership of more resources than can be defended personally by the owner. And what changes would prevent a baf actor amassing an army and using it to rob others, as he happened all throughout history.

The underlying argument is that, if the woman wishes to terminate the pregnancy, the man should be able to legally disown the child if he does not wish to have anything to do with the child.
It's either we have equal option to terminate the responsibility to the child, or we decide that the child's interest is paramount and supersedes both mother and father.
To argue for abortion, which results in irrevocable termination of responsibility by unilateral decision by the mother, and not have a provision to have an equivalent option of termination of responsibility by unilateral decision by the father seems fundamentally unjust to me.
i.e.
Scenario 1:
if the mother wishes to keep the baby, and the father wishes to abort, the father should have the option to absolve himself of all responsibility in relation to the child, and the mother carries the child to term.
Scenario 2:
If the mother wishes to abort, and the father wishes to keep, the mother aborts the child, absolving both parents of responsibility in relation to the child.
[β]Volcanic-Penguin12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[β]Bolizen0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Until you find a way for a baby to be born without using the mother as a host, that's the way it has to be. Agreed for the first scenario though.
[β]keten0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree its unfair but in the case of an abortion there is no child so there's no financial burden on the social system. But if there is a child there is a financial burden, so where does the money come from? The legal system says the other parent, even if that's not always fair.
The only alternative I could see is if instead we used taxes to fund that burden, but then is that fair to people who choose not to have kids or people that are in already stable financial situations? Or I guess take kids away from parents who can't support them on a single income and put them with parents who can? The latter seems a bit dystopian though.
[β]variedpageants18 points19 points20 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
there is nothing wrong with terminating a pregnancy
I agree but the argument above isn't an argument for taking away the right to abortion. It's for granting men a similar right to refuse to be a parent. Note that a woman's right to refuse to be a parent can be exercised in several ways - abortion is one, but she has other options too. Hell, women can literally drop babies off at police or fire stations and just walk away, no questions asked.
So this isn't really about abortion.
If a woman has a limited window during which she can refuse to be a parent, equality demands that a similar right be granted to men during a limited window of time. Feel free to make it really, really limited. Make it a week, for example. When a man is notified that he's gotten a girl pregnant, he has one week to officially declare (in some way to be specified by law) that he refuses to be a parent.
This would take nothing away from women in terms of "bodily autonomy" and men would be dancing in the street.
The great thing about this idea is that there's no valid argument against it which is not also an argument against abortion. For example, I've been told, "men can refuse to be parents by just not having sex." K. Then abortion doesn't need to be legal because you can just not have sex.

especially in a world bursting with overpopulation and a huge lack of resources.
With the way the western world is turning out, we won't have to worry about that at all. If anything, abortion is what's helping to make sure the downfall is upon us. Let me put it as simply as I can. Big groups are made of many people. If the people in these groups don't breed in sufficient numbers, the group dies, or gets taken over by a larger group. Now apply that concept to what's going on in the world today.
The western world is literally being primed for a takeover. It's interesting to see unfold.
[β]aesu8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Forcing people to give birth to children they cant afford or dont want seems like the most horrendous way of trying to resolve that problem.
[β]Mechs20021 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Who said anything about forcing people to have kids? Iβm just stating facts. Also, if you canβt afford kids, or donβt want kids, there are like nine fucking different contraceptives that can be used. Abortion should not even need to be a thing accept for the most extreme of cases.
smh If people are this dumb these days, then maybe we deserve whatβs coming next.
If someone doesn't want the child once theyre pregnant, the fact that they've managed to get pregnant despite, as you say, there being such an array of contraceptives, only demonstrates they are even less fit to have kids.
By restricting abortions, you only encourage the least fit people in society to have children, which seems like the worst possible way of trying to maintain our population.
[β]Mechs20020 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Where did I say anything about restricting abortions? Stop putting words in my mouth! You did that in your last post too. Jesus H. Christ, I give two flying fucks about abortion at the end of the day. These hoes can go hoe it up, get pregnant, and abort 100 of the little bastards for all I care. I'm just pointing out FACT!
[β]aesu0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Your original comment was that abortions were problem because our population is declining. I was just saying abortions are not a part of that problem because the people having abortions are not the people we want yo have children. Apparently we agree.
[β]Fantoche_Dreemurr2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Not a pregnancy debate but one of equal rights. A woman can legally trap a man for two decades if she gets him to knock her up. She can decide to keep the baby to term and fully expect the government to house and feed her plus extraction from the man.
The reverse is not only impossible but villified, while the woman is hailed as "free" because she can do that.

We donβt have overpopulation. We have underpopulation. This is a myth that the left pushes so that the birth rate will continue dropping so that they can replace native western populations with more pliant foreigners.

The reason for why the laws look as they do is that forced corporal procedures to terminate pregnancies is naturally not seen as an option in most of the Western world, though I heard it still occurs in China. Child support is technically for the kid, and in most countries outside the US amounts are actually pretty sane for the purpose (think 200ish dollars a month)
I do not really think any society, even the super liberal ones, wants to see children that are unwanted by either parent. But because of practical biological reasons we sometimes end up with the unfortunate situation where kids are used as a baseball bat and a "sperm donor father" as an ATM.
I would like to see new legislation on this matter. The key part of it would be that a couple that are soon having children needs to show a paper trail of that this was agreed upon mutually. It would not matter if such an agreement is created before or after the woman has gotten pregnant.
If no such paper trail can be shown = both parents lose custody of the kid and it's put up for adoption just after birth.
That would be true gender equality, and make gold digger women think twice before they pull a bad one.

You know a majority of men who get girls pregnant who end up having abortions leave them which is why the abortion is even considered in the first place? Idk if yβall just ignore the world around situations but itβs never just a βI want this until this point then I want this opposite thing.β There are complex and systemic situational factors that impact it all.
[β]darkelf1367-5 points-4 points-3 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
If you don't want a kid, you can literally just wave your parental rights and not have anything to do with it. It's the closest thing to Male abortion possible. If you don't want to pay, then don't. It's that simple. How does a 21 year old know more than the 786 people who upvoted this at the time of this comment?π
[β]trthorson6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
What country do you live in? It doesn't work that way in the US. The government will require both parents to support the child unless both parents avoid ever getting the government involved - which includes never applying for government subsidies like low income housing, state-subsidized healthcare, or food stamps.
[+]darkelf1367-7 points-6 points-5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It literally does, I have seen it happen.
[β][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It does not. In Italy the father is forced to pay by courts, no matter what. If the child isnβt recognised by the father, then courts can force a DNA test and payments will be forced upon the father.
