Ohhh man, itβs even better when youβre a MP. Try letting one not get on base because she left her dependent ID, rage, call her husband ( who she was threatening was a O4; he was) he shows up and starts raging because sheβs raging. Modern Women are a fucking joke.
Edit: Not only was she still DENIED access to base but her husband was almost detained. Donβt fuck with a armed up MP period.

[β]DonDorcha27 points28 points29 points 4 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
I have no knowledge of army ranks in any country. Could you explain what an 04 is and how it differs from an E4?
[β]Rodbow1543 points44 points45 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
O rank is officer. Goes from 1-10 (O4+ is considered the "real deal" because O1-3 is given over time)
E is enlisted. Goes from 1-9 (E4 - E5 is NCO E6+ is considered SNCO)
Officers have "higher" authority over enlisted.
[β]AfricanStar019 points20 points21 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Does the lowest ranked officer have authority over the highest ranked enlisted?
[β]undeadxchi7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Depends on the officer and the branch.
In the marine corps. getting a CAR these days basically made you top dog but you still had to dog and pony show at times.
Had a few NCOs run the show simply because they had one and the officers wouldnβt bother because they were just that young but understood the ribbon.
Was a good time for a while.
[β]Rodbow158 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
No, the highest enlisted is usually β[the rank] of the [the branch]β ie: sergeant major of the marine corps, master chief petty officer of the navy...etc. Those guys are in a tier of their own. Other than them, technically they have authority but they havenβt really βearnedβ it I guess from the senior enlisted. Not until they learn the ropes and get higher rank.
[β]AmNotReel11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ive seen Sergeant Major's walk right past 2Lts w/o saluting, and they couldnt say shit. The 2Lt shouldve just saluted the SGM loool
[β]AngryTails0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The way this was explained to me is that while yes the lowest ranked officers TECHNICALLY have authority over the highest ranked enlisted, there will still be deference from the lower ranked officers to those highest ranked enlisted. The higher ranked enlisted have experience, and generally will speak for the lower enlisted men. As such, rules(like saluting to the lower officers) are generally relaxed for them. Higher up(Captains in the Marines & Army, Lt/LtCmdrs in the Navy & Coast Guard) are where those rules are more enforced but very often the higher enlisted members are looked to for advice where the crew/platoon are concerned.
Note: this was explained to me by a LtCol from the Marines, after he retired(sometime around 25-30 years ago now). Things may have changed since his day but that is how it was then.
[β]FreshNothingBurger1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The way I've heard it is similar:
"Technically they're NCOs. Practically they're first name basis with people who send butter bars to fetch coffee".
[β]mondo1352 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Your answer started out awesome then you threw in other acronyms. I'm guessing NCO means Non Commissioned Officer? Where do they stand compared to commissioned officers and enlisted? I think some ranks get a salary?
[β]Rodbow151 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Sorry about that lmao NCOs are still enlisted so unless they're E7+ they don't stand very high at all. NCOs basically have power of those under their rank.

Depends on how long you want to stay in the military. Only a few months left until your tour is up and don't care about the Officer making your life hell? go for it. Trying to stay in and progress as a career or still need it for benefit's? Probably not the best idea to piss off someone who can fuck you over when it's something minor.

No they can. As long as its like any police officer and they are following UCMJ, our law. My point was this guys is flexing he almost took in an 04 my point is if an e4 behaved in the same way as an 04 would he give him the same slack.
Mps know there is much more push back harassing an 04 then an e4 and it shouldn't be like this. Rules are black and white.
Maybe he treats everyone equal but that would be contrary to my 12 years of experiences with military police.

Why would you join the military in America? Shit pay, shit hours, hard, back-breaking labor, knowing your wife is getting a train run on her back home, and now they are getting less generous with retirement pay. And you might get free healthcare for life, but it's generally shit.
Then, of course, there is the knowledge that you're fighting for a country and civilization that is not worth fighting for and will go to hell no matter what you do (for domestic reasons like uncontrolled women) and also doesn't appreciate your service.
Even if we "win" our pointless wars, what do we get for it? A big pile of sand? Was that worth $4 trillion and 7000 men? Why should you serve a government that doesn't care about men?
Don't forget, divorce rape is even worse if you're in the military. She will really rake you thru the coals when she leaves.
TL:DR You're fighting for a country that gains nothing from winning the war, who doesn't care about you, who pays you shit, and our country will go to hell no matter what you do because women can vote. You might protect us from foreign enemies, but there are so many domestic ones that we will fall anyway.
[β]justanotherdude11286 points87 points88 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
Truth is most of us military members dont actually give a shit about that stuff. For some, it's just a way to pay for college. Then you got the spec ops guys and pilots who are just fulfilling childhood dreams of action and combat. For others it's just a job. Got no clue what you want to do with your life? Join the military. Beats working at McDonald's. Sure the pay is shit, and the jobs are often shit, but you get to travel the world, basically join a giant fraternity, etc.
You're looking at big picture politics here. Most of us dont look that big. Obviously you've never served. Truth is most people who dont won't understand.
Also as stated previously, the officer track is also generally a pretty good deal of you go that route. Networking, leadership/managing experience, and possibly some good technical training.
[β]NathanHollister23 points24 points25 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I never served, no. Regardless of the job, I don't want to work for a government who views me as cannon fodder and less valuable than women. It's just another leg supporting the wobbly stool that is our gynocentric society.

Exactly this. It's mostly for people who have not many other options, come from small towns, etc. They prey upon these types and the lower class communities with the dream of serving a few years and coming back to a fully paid college tuition, GI bill, VA benefits, all that shit. It's a trap, but obviously they know how to suck people in. I have no clue why the hell it's legal for high schools to have a military recruiter there (at my HS at least) every single fucking day trying to talk kids into signing their life away.
[β]Stryker72005 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't call myself a hero the 25 soldiers lives I've saved from IEDs and ambushes called me hero as do their wives, sons, daughters, and parents called me a hero. There's a lot wrong with this that I want to correct for any young people who see this. The pay isn't bad, E4 without a meal card and no bah can make about 1.4k/check. Hours and labor depends on what your Mos is, I worked 9am to 1pm pretty much every day. Also this is mgtow, why do we have a wife in the scenario? Not all Mos deploy and have to fight for anything, the army can be a stepping stone to a career like it was for me. Anyone looking to join the military, it's a viable option whether you want to do 20 or 4yr. Just be smart about it.

I didnβt serve but fully respect the idea of structure and training. I did martial arts for ten years and felt like I couldnβt quite get enough. I kept fantasizing about what it would be like to not have to work and be able to train 24/7 in a structured environment with 0 distractions. I donβt agree with dying for shitty causes but I do think most men could use allot more structure and training early on in life. Sucks to see kids stuck at desks for 8 hours a day instead of realizing their physical potential and developing strategy, combat, and survival skills.

This is why Augustus decreed that men enlisting in the military had to be unmarried and childless. Reduces competing loyalties, allows soldiers to focus on war and reduces animosity toward civilian population. Much more effective when your soldiers are primarily landless, poor, and young.
Back before Gaius Marius soldiers came from landed nobility who came with their own weapons, equipment, and sometimes their own subordinate soldiers. They were usually only gone for a year or two and not very far away, and because they had lands to inherit their families kept an eye on sluttery by their wives if they had them.
If you're going to arm the landless and uneducated poor and send them to the other side of the Earth for years of alternating extreme boredom and violence the last thing you should add is distress for them when they come home. If they left a woman with 1 child and come back to a woman with 4 back when war was more violent and thus PTSD probably more severe....
If you ask me it should be a requirement for soldiers to enlist only if they don't have any children and no romantic ties to the civilian citizenry. Prostitutes and casuals only, otherwise they're fighting the enemy while the people are protecting are fucking their wives.
[β]urbanfoh12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Actually very interesting comment!
I have to say it would suck massively to die in war before you fucked a girl in your lifetime. On the other hand that provided some good selection among males. Those who survived had status, less competition and could choose among relatively more women. A pretty good incentive.

nobody said anything about fucking.
For the Romans a marriage was like an official relationship, with official children, who can inherit property from you.
Back then people were allowed to own slaves, and frankly rape was not really a crime in the same way it is now. It was if the female or male victim came from an important family because you needed the father's consent, but if you were poor you were largely on your own to protect your family.
Roman soldiers were always free to see prostitutes, to maintain unofficial relationships with locals or anyone else, to fuck their slaves, and to fuck or rape enemy civilians. I'm not going to pretend that all or even most of their morality should be applied today. We're better off in most ways.
But they were forbidden from marriages and having official children and families largely to avoid soldiers being stressed about being cucked and to reduce any competing loyalties. The military had to be their number 1 priority while in the military, after they got land and wife.
I definitely thing military recruits should be required to not have children when enlisting and to be heavily discouraged from getting married or starting a family while they are enlisted or expected to be campaigning.

you prove my own belief that no one is anti rape but rather people oppose the forced reducyion in female market value that comes from pregnancy.
tldr; wahmen cant sell sex if men can just steal it.

In public they'd be trying to pull rank and assume they have some sort of authority.
I got a ton of horror stories from my buds who are in the military. Wives at the base all act as if they have the ranks, not the husband.

I think military wives who cheat should be treated like the French Resistance treated Frenchwomen who had slept with Nazi soldiers. They paraded them in public, stripped them to their underwear or sometimes nude and shaved off all their hair and painted swastikas on their faces. Man, did they ever deserve it.
[β]LiveTheTruth3216 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Imagine being so low that you cheat on your husband when he is doing the hardest possible stuff for so little in return. There is a very special place in hell for people who do that.
[β]ClonazolamIsMe1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I see this all too often. A military man will impulsively marry the first woman he can get with, and 2 years later he's paying child support because she turned out to be a cheating sack of shit.
It's even worse when it's dual military. The woman is surrounded by dudes, and she doesn't have the self control to not try other military members cocks.
I always try to warn against marriage in the military, but unfortunately, the military pretty rewards people for marriage by letting them move out of the barracks and live in a house on the military's dime.
