"Welcome to McDonalds, may I take your order?"

"Yeah hi can I just get your number, please."

TLDR: If you work in fast food dress professionally. It may end up getting you laid

Just wanted to share a couple of anecdotes and a bit of advice while in a place I did not expect TRP to have much of an affect on my life.

About me and my situation

I'm 19 years old and work part time at a McDonald's while I study at university. Now anyone who's ever stepped foot in a maccas knows it's very easy for staff to look like hammered shit in their crumpled uniforms, worn out hat and acne ridden face. Overall low SMV tier stuff.

I make a conscious effort to avoid this happening to me, by implementing a few simple but effective things:

I wash my face before and after every shift.

The amount of dirty oil in the atmosphere in my workplace is ridiculous, and I sometimes end up washing it mid shift as well. I highly recommend that anyone working in fast food should do this.

My shirts are a size too small.

This was unintentional but I use it to my advantage. Since starting in fast food I've grown by a very decent amount of muscle mass, and am now at the point where I'm not huge but anyone who looks at me can see I work out. Even though I now fit into large shirts nicely, my work shirts are all medium and fit tight around my arms and chest, so I look very swole in them. It's pretty easy for me to stand out among my workmates who are either very skinny or very fat.

I wear a gold watch on my wrist

This is the icing on the cake. I love it as it looks professional while being a subtle amount of peacocking, and easily still fits my works dress code. The number of compliments I've received from customers passing through the drive thru number in the hundreds. Overall I stand out as someone much more handsome than you'd expect when you walk in a McDonald's.

So how have these affected my life?

When I originally began making a conscious effort to increase my appearance at work, it was intended to just be that: dressing professionally. I had no idea it would get me pickups through a drive thru window not once, but twice, in one month.

In fact, to be honest this should be taken with a grain of salt. I don't want you to take away this advice as how to get laid at work, because though dressing professionally played a strong part in this report I still believe a lot of it was also pure luck and good timing, and as you read you will probably agree. I don't anticipate similar scenarios being common in the near future, but who knows, maybe that's just me trying to stay humble.

I should also preface by saying the store I work at is in a very social area. I predominantly work shifts that finish towards midnight, and our main customers at that time are either taxis and carpools full of drunk men and women, or friends out for late nigh drives, so a very large group of 18-25 year olds. Whether this has had any major affect affect on my success I'll leave up to the reader.

The field reports

part uno

It was drawing close to the end of my shift, when a car full of 17-18 year old girls pull up at my window. I give the usual customer service spiel, and immediately I notice two girls in the back seat eyeballing the fuck out of me. One of them gives a very drawn out "oh helloooo" and the other laughs and yells about how big my arms are. I maintain good frame and keep professional through their order, where they take as much time as possible and where the two girls do not take their eyes off me the whole time. As I exited my hand out the window to give their change, one of them reaches out and grabs my arm while exclaiming "oh my gooooood!" This is pretty normal drunk behaviour though, and as the car leaves I assume that's the end of it.

Except it's not. I finish my shift and find one of the girls eyeballing me, a HB 7, has somehow added me on Facebook (I later find out another passenger went to my old high school and knew who I was, so I guess she decided to play wing woman) I message and ask who this is, she says are you the cute guy from the maccas window. I call her a creep for stalking my Facebook and she laughs & hamsters that her friend made her add me or whatever, ok cook. I escalate, get number & snapchat, yadayada you know the drill, two days later I'm at her place.

Now one of these stories is well enough to tell friends and laugh about, but three weeks later it fucking happens again.

part dos

Same scenario, though a bit earlier in the night. I'd been at gym before work, and was still buzzed on pre workout and in a social mood. I'd probably spent more time chatting with staff than doing actual work, as it was a quiet night and out managers are very chill.

Two girls, both about 19 and HB 6's and 7's, pull up to the window and ask for an ice cream, but served in a sundae lid instead of a wafer. When I hand it to them they say "thanks we just need it cause we're gonna throw it at someone." I switch out of customer service mode into social mode and say "that's pretty mean, why would you do that?" to which they reply they just feel like it. I then say "film it and put it on YouTube" which gets them laughing, and suddenly the 7 unexpectedly asks me for my number, hamstering "so she can send me the video." I tell her to pull her phone out and I read it out to her there and then. As she puts her phone away she finishes with "thanks, your arms are so beautiful by the way" I say thank you, and ask "is it the watch, it's always the watch." They both laugh and I tell them I have to go do actual work, and we part ways.

I finish my shift and I find a missed call and texts on my phone. Very similar to the other girl, I give her shit and call her a weirdo for flirting with fast food workers. A day later she's in my car getting a large McDick meal with a frozen Fanta for the drink. I never ended up receiving the video though :(

Lessons learned

• Nothing new game wise that hasn't been repeated numerous times in this sub already.

• Lift

• Even in entry level jobs like fast food, it's very beneficial to dress professionally and to take care of your appearance. It may not get you laid, but it will 100% gain you respect from staff members and other customers alike.
