They mean well but times have changed, marriage that they are accustomed to is obsolete. Sad thing is women have always been this way it’s just social media that has woke us up

I think it was easier back then tbh. No paper trail or anything on line to catch them. That’s where the stereotypes of banging the mailman or pool boy came from lol

Recipe for getting divorce rape. Common-law wife and all that.
[–]gprime14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yes, but assuming he lives in the US, most jurisdictions no longer recognize new common law marriages, and even those that do have strict stipulations that he can work around. On the other hand, in countries like Canada, common-law is still very aggressively imposed under circumstances that most people would rightly find ridiculous. So really, whether or not he's fucking himself depends on where he lives.

It's worse if you come from a South Asian family. My mother's brother (my uncle) was divorce-raped, yet she keeps pushing marriage on me.

Parents today are sobbing pussies who just want to be pals with their children. They won't teach them any life or survival skills whatsoever and won't make their totally-rational 9 year old child do anything that they say they don't want to do. You see this all the time on the main subs - I thought the goal of raising children was to help them become capable adults who can look out for themselves and make their own scratch (breaking news, this requires forcing your children to sometimes do things that they don't want to do). These fucking cunts insist that the most important thing is to maintain a good relationship with your child. Probably because SJW media told them that's what "good humans" do.

"If I'm not allowed to go to parties and develop social skills and a social life, then who exactly am I going to marry?
You made me stay home and now, guess what? I enjoy being by myself. You did this to yourselves."
[–]MicroelectronicElk61 points62 points63 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Eh, parties are mostly hedonistic drinking sessions. So you're not missing much. The people are fun to be friends with but it will take a toll on your health
[–]BonelessSkinless49 points50 points51 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Nah, you're downplaying and underscoring the importance and power of those parties. Actually he was missing out and those hedonistic drinking sessions would've netted him social skills, a life and friends and get his dick taken care of. Those parties are social doorways and when parents close those doorways they fuck up a lot of things for their kid. So don't be surprised they become an introvert that likes staying at home when you didn't let them see their friends.
[–]username-----------24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I can confirm, i have similar experiences with my parents, some of when i was a kid, and i’m an introvert
[–]MicroelectronicElk16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Oh certainly I hate helicopter parents too. I'm just saying if the parties dont align with your life goals say fitness then you're not missing out. You can find friends tailored to your type of activity say sports or gaming.
[–]BonelessSkinless2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That I will 100% agree with
[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The fact that ones dick is taken care of primarily in those parties when girls are drunk, just shows how frigid and fucked up they are (from standards to willingness to give out and so and so on)
Even then, this sex is not that valueable.
[–]DaBiff1842205 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Literally nothing is wrong with being an introvert
[–]BonelessSkinless10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
There isn't anything wrong with it. It's the parents that see something wrong with it and complain about it "why don't you get out the house?" Gee I don't know maybe because you isolated me from my friends and from parties and they thought I was a fag for not reaching and fucked up my social life which you didn't take seriously at the time thinking you knew better. That's why I'm here on a Friday night, bye
[–]Kvlka6666 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
this. My parents never let me go hang out with my friends much, and even when they did let me go, it was for like an hour. Or two hours.
Now they keep telling me how quiet and introverted I am lmao.
[–]FritzLn6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The only thing "extroverted" means in this society is "I tapdance well for vagina"
And many extroverts desperately want to claim they're introverts these days because it's unique and "hip" (if you're attractive)
[–]Kvlka6664 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
oh, that is so true about the people wanting to claim they're introverted. Also the dumbasses who claim they're "depressed" or have xyz mental disorders because they're starting to get awareness.
[–]TickPocket1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
WELL SAID.
For me, “parties” looked like a bunch of people just getting together, playing video games, LAN parties, a bit of drinking, lots of snacks, laughing ourselves sick, and just talking until the sun came up. It was simple, but social, and we’d occasionally invite new people into the fold until we had a really nice group of friends.
My boyfriend didn’t do ANYTHING social when he was in highschool, he primarily enjoyed being by himself because during the time that people were exploring their freedoms and social lives, he wasn’t. And honestly? There’s nothing wrong with that. He enjoyed his OWN company and solitude wasn’t a prison for him.
Being restricted and held back (socially) against your will really REALLY sucks especially if it’s by a parent who thinks they “know what’s best”, but once you’ve become comfortable with yourself, those same people who restricted you start trying to push you out of your comfort zone. It’s such BS. EVEN WORSE is what those same parents start chirping at you with things like “so when are you gonna bring home a boyfriend/girlfriend?”.
And then you tell them “nah I’m not really searching for one, I don’t feel like it’s a necessity and I’m fine by myself”
Parents: surprised pikachu face
[–]Dan_Vanedzin160 points161 points162 points 4 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
Can confirm as an Asian. Every parent use "if your friend jump off a bridge" line.
Then they get mad if the same line was used against them lol
[–]SuperbrImaging83 points84 points85 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
Asian parents will literally burn their wealth before ever handing it to you if you refuse to marry and have kids...
Even if you were the one who took care of them in their old age. Marriage + kids is so entrenched in Asian culture it's ridiculous.
[–]Dan_Vanedzin60 points61 points62 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
That's why my plan: Study and get a good job, live frugally.
Eventhough I will miss my parent's wealth due to not marrying.....well fuck that, I have my own wealth, take those monies to your grave if you want.
But it's true, Asian parents are always asking about marriage, kids and shit, it sickens me.
[–]SuperbrImaging43 points44 points45 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
My parents are pretty redpilled on the nature of women and how I can easily get fucked over.
Them: who cares, still want grandkids. You'll just have to deal with the damage after shit happens.
That's basically what I do now. Work a job that pays well and live within my means tending only to myself. My parents don't have any wealth for me to inherit so they have nothing to leverage. I built up my life from the nothing and I'm damn proud of it.
Not going to let my parents or society shame me into bending to their will when all life did was shit on me.
[–]MustacheCel10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
The funny thing is that in modern society the fathers parents usually tend to be the marginalized grandparents. The wife always gets in a fued with the dudes mother early on and then uses that as an excuse to favour her own parents. Ive seen this play out in every friends marriage and even my sister did the same thing.
[–]SuperbrImaging10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You'd think they would realize that in the upcoming onslaught. If the dad gets fucked over and is never allowed to see the kid, what are the chances of the paternal grandparents ever getting to see the kids?
Hell this happened to my dad to an extent. We burn resources helping out my mom's side of the family, but the moment my dad so wants to buy a meal for his parents my mom goes off the rail.
But he's still going on about grandkids with some notion that it's like that for everyone else, just won't happen to me. Wishful thinking there.
[–]MustacheCel2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
An all too common story. And they say men are the selfish gender.

Asian parents, or Asian MOTHERS? ;)
[–]Dan_Vanedzin3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Asian parents. Why?
Asian fathers don't have the backbone as Wester fathers (or what it should be). If it's not the wife, the mom/mom in law will tell him what to do.
Both are useless.
[–]Smart_Human2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Hi me
[–]FutureSquall12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Ain’t just the Asian parents. Even if they aren’t wealthy, some simply start by talking to you less and less to the point where you don’t even know when the next family gathering is.
[–]SuperbrImaging15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So sad that parents could easily cast aside a person who they raised and watch grow up, someone who cares for them and helps them whenever they are in need.
All because they don't want to get married and have kids.
Funny enough, marrying and having kids is when people tend to alienate themselves from their parents, or at least when your bitch wife stops you from seeing your own parents.
Don't choose that path, and your parents alienate you instead. Different means, same result. Clown world out there.

I always found that such a dumb argument by parents and teachers. Your friend got you to do something a little naughty like fire an elastic band in class. The teacher asks why you did it. Your answer ‘my friend told me to’. The teachers response ‘if he told you to jump off a bridge would you do it?’. It’s like ‘duh! no! Because firing an elastic band won’t get me killed...big difference’!
[–]riderin18 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
As a former teacher i'll tell you that while it's stupid answer there is a merit in it. It's funny how often kids think that they can get away with shit they do if they either do something coz other kid said something to do to them, or they are one telling something stupid to be done. Mostly in ours school we punish only the one who did this, without saying stupid bridge bullshit. And if kid complaining that he was just being told to do so, we will just say that it is you who did it, next time think better who you listen to.
[–]E_J_H33 points34 points35 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I’ve always said I would jump off the bridge with my friends. Not having any friends left would suck and I’d be suicidal from the mass suicide of my closest buds.
[–]TheLawandOrder20 points21 points22 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I always find parents who nag their kids to get married and give them grand kids are kinda selfish. It's like they don't care about the costs of raising a child or how well that child is looked after, or whether you find a woman who doesn't turn into a psycho later.
Nope they just want grand children because "Everyone else is having them" or "But babies are so cute"
Or my personal favorite. "A man is not meant to be alone. It's not good for your mental development. You only become a man once you settle down and have kids"
[–]mnight756 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
All that mental health bullshit about how married men live longer is shit. Social engineering to try to get men to marry.
If I am miserable, living longer doesn't matter anyways.
[–]RevolutionaryPea717 points18 points19 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
My parents mentioned the getting married thing now and then but lately I noticed they would start to mention it every time I would see them. Last time I had to just tell them straight. I didn't say "I'm MGTOW" or anything, I just said that after having been in relationships I've decided that all I really want is to be alone.
I told my Dad later that I simply get everything I want from women (ie. sex) but with none of the commitment. When I'm told old to just have sex with women like that, who cares? It's not like I'd be getting any sex if I was married. He saw my point.
[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
very true
Parents are like customers at a retail store, they always think they're right.
[–]StatisticsJason9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
Most of the unmarried guys I know never get pressure from anyone, including their parents, to get married. 50+ years ago everyone would have constantly criticized and pressured a bachelor...now silence. There are obviously good things about that but I also see some negative. The negative is the world looks down on these men as not being worthy of being in the marriage market to begin with.
[–]novhaku7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Having brothers or sisters that are already married and already have kids helps a lot when it comes to this. They already have their grandchildren to play with so they're less annoying.

Interesting because two of the unmarried guys I know are Asian and their parents never say anything about it. One of them was unnaturally close to his mother...meaning that's who he hung out with all the time. She was like a substitute girlfriend or wife, I don't mean anything sexual but that was his female companion through his adult years. She passed away a year ago and now he is absolutely devastated.
[–]FutureSquall4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No instead society deems you as a potential terrorist. The UK does it everyday as they collect data on those who don’t follow script. We get jackass trolls on here making light of Elliot Rodger and commenting on how some woman should be clubbed. They may not be screaming at you in the streets but they sure as hell want you gone.
I make it a point to work on my body a little more than usual I've noticed the results. I also will never get married. I am more than worthy and "up to standards" of a LOT of women. I will NEVER marry or settle down. Fuck ALL that. I feel good knowing I'm prime marriage material and will never want it. Fuck a marriage.
[–]QuantumTheories_427 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

"Why can't you solve this problem" "Well nobody were able to solve it" "WHy are you comparing yourself to other kids?". So when it's to shit on me and my ability it's perfectly fine to compare me to other kids. While when i'm on level with other kids but it's somehow unsatisfactory to you, i'm not suppose to be compared to other kids... Fuck you and your double standarts.
