SUMMARY: While Donald Trump is a smart guy who uses Red Pill tactics to get ahead in the Presidential race, the incompetence of the media reporting on him sealed the deal with him getting the Republican nomination.

BODY: I don't agree with Donald Trump politically, but the man's rise to the top of the Presidential race is fascinating. Trump is a much-discussed figure on TRP, but this interview he did today with Chris Cuomo is still worth discussing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9I0NbF34cd8

Chris Cuomo jumps in immediately calling out Trump for attacking Hillary Clinton covering up Bill's attacks on women, saying Trump's comments were unsubstantiated. Instead of addressing the question, Trump immediately whines about not receiving a "congratulations" first for getting the Republican nomination. He says he "knows why they call CNN 'the Clinton Network'."

Cuomo shit-tested Trump in a similar way to how Megan Kelly shit-tested him at the first debate calling him out for his comments on women. At that time, Trump dropped the anchor "only Rosie O'Donnell" to throw the accusation back in her face. With Cuomo, he drops two anchors: the lack of "congratulations" and the "Clinton Network" insult. (Is the "Clinton Network" even an insult people use or did Trump just make that up... for Trump's dominance, doesn't matter.)

At first glance, Trump appears whiny. What kind of "tough man" cares about a "congratulations"? But in reality, Trump doesn't care. He's just preparing for the ultimate kill...

Cuomo interrupts Trump (and ignores the Clinton Channel comment) by saying that he did congratulate Trump last time on the show. This is similar to how Megan Kelly responded, "For the record, it was well beyond Rosie O'Donnell." The difference here is that Kelly's face looks completely off-guard and the rest of her scripted question is drowned out by audience laughter. Conversely, Cuomo confidently calls Trump out on his bullshit without showing signs of weakness or being interrupted by a third force. It looks for a second as if Cuomo can beat Trump at the conversation where Kelly couldn't.

After Cuomo fires back, however, Trump first ignores Cuomo's comment (increasing dominance) and then repeats the "congratulations" complaint almost verbatim (not because he's stupid, but because repetition is a strong rhetorical device. Notice also how he never says "um" or "uh" like President Obama. He may at times seem scatterbrained by repeating sentences, but in reality it gives him more time to think of what to say without saying "um" or "uh"). Finally, he claims to know "more about CNN than Cuomo."

The result? KO to Cuomo's ego.

Cuomo, hurt by the comment, immediately backs down, apologizes, and asks to start over. He congratulates Trump on the nomination again (even though he did do it before).

In less than two minutes, Trump completely took over Cuomo's show with his rhetoric, even though Cuomo was completely justified in not congratulating him a second time or asking the Clinton question.

In a sense, by pretending to be a whiny bitch about the "congratulations," Trump lets Cuomo feel like he is going to win the conversation until Trump hits back with a surprise attack on Cuomo's intelligence.

If you listen to a liberal analyst like HBO's Bill Maher (whom I like despite flaws), you will hear that Trump is whiny and not a man. And on the surface of his "congratulations" complaint, that viewpoint is valid. But below the surface, Trump's whininess is an act to cover up surprise bouts of dominance. His fake whininess, his nicknames he creates as memory cues, and all his other tactics help him suck people in and defeat his naysayers.

Someone like Bernie Sanders uses whininess (about billionaires) and memory cues to push his messages, too. But because Bernie has something to lose (his political career) and Trump has nothing to lose (he can go back to Trump Tower anytime), Trump can be nastier and dirtier for attention.

And because the media can't figure any of this out, Trump dominates the news, grows popular, and wins the GOP nomination. And Bernie goes down the drain.

The ONLY show that for a long time refused to even acknowledge Trump was HBO's Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and even they broke down and did not one but two segments on Trump. They were doing so well for so long until the vortex swallowed them whole.

WHAT I LEARNED: This is all why Trump is admittedly winning with almost no paid advertising, even though I don't personally agree with his politics. If media pundits could either call him out on his bullshit without backing down or refuse to cover him at all, Trump wouldn't be as popular. But alas, Trump owns them all.
