Today is day three of what is a Trifecta weekend of Friday, Saturday and Sunday where I'm at three different outdoor festivals.

On day one I encountered "The Perfect Beta":

Scene

  • Beer Garden

  • Me (55 year old, socially extroverted)

  • A Mother (45-50 divorced, with her daughter)

  • A Daughter (25 year old hottie)

  • A Beta (25 year old, good looking physically)

So the logic of the Mother was that she was going to help her daughter by introducing her to the Beta.

The Beta was... of course... a Nice Guy™.

The Daughter actually doesn't enter the scene until much later, so for at least a half hour I was talking with the Mother and Beta who I had just met. The Mother was apparently cheated on by her ex-husband and by the sound of it he was wise to the Machiavellian side of reality. So the Mother understands the reality of the "Dark Side" and seemed to be compensating by choosing the most Beta guy she could find for her. ("Don't repeat my mistake and marry an Alpha" was the Mother's logic)

The Beta was "perfect" in his absolute belief that the world is a good place and that all things happen randomly if they don't turn out well. The very suggestion that the Truth often revolves around manipulation is simply rejected as "too painful" to imagine. Call something a "conspiracy theory" to the Beta and you can make anything disappear. (he prefers randomness because then it seems more innocent, so that trick always works)

The Daughter arrives later, senses the guys Beta traits (which I picked up in 30 seconds) and basically loses interest immediately and wanders off to chase Chad Thundercock somewhere else. This was the predictable outcome.

Lesson

The thing to remember here is that the Beta chooses his ignorance. I was very gentle in guiding him towards seeing the Truth (so I wasn't trying to injure him) but the desire to be "perfect" and the attachment to the "good feelings" of being a "good boy" (Nice Guy™) is very strong.

The Nice Guy™ Beta actually could become wise if he simply was willing to be objective and study Machiavellian behavior. But the Nice Guy™ does not choose to investigate things that don't make him feel good. He ignores and blocks the very Truths which could help him become wise.

Deep down the logic goes something like this:

"I am a good boy who sees a world of good people and this makes me happy. If I were to see reality as some suggest might exist outside this Blue Pill bubble it would change me and I would lose my innocence. Women will certainly love me for my innocence because... well don't women love innocence?"

...it's really that last thought where there is hope the Beta can be given the Red Pill someday. Time after time the Beta will be rejected because his innocence just doesn't generate Tingles in women.

Sometimes you can plant a Red Pill seed and it will blossom years down the road... (and you will never know you influenced them)
