Intro

In a relatively recent post I made about not needing to be a top 1% male to get laid, I noticed a lot of guys creating these borderline unrealistic standards of what being top 20% really is. Top 20% is a lot of context, but to put things into perspective, a survey showed that millennials on average had a total of 8 sexual partners (both genders). We know that number is probably lower for guys and higher for girls (on average) and that there is some wild variability to that survey. Assuming having 8 partners puts you into exactly into the 50% mark then having 20 partners means your probably well into the top 20% as far as sexual partners is concerned.

If you make a HOUSEHOLD income of $130,000 you're in the top 10% financially in the USA according to the census bureau.

I'm here to tell you top 20% in the SMP is a lot lower than you think

Body

For the sake of argument, I'm going to be using data relevant to the USA.

About 74% of men in the USA are obese or overweight. (https://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-information/health-statistics/Pages/overweight-obesity-statistics.aspx) Therefore, if you are at healthy weight you are pretty much in the top 20%, and if you have a good body you're probably in the top 5%.

I'm not going to use literal statistics for this, but I'm going to use common sense observation that I'm pretty sure almost everyone here can agree with.

Most average guys don't ever hit on girls unless it's on the weekend and they had enough social lubricant to complete their half assed sloppy approaches. If you have enough of a nut sack to hit on a girl during the day you are probably in the top 20% as far as social freedom/ talking to chicks is concerned. If you're hitting on 2 every day you're probably in the top 5% or higher.

Most guys never ever get approached by a chick in the bar or anywhere. This is pretty rare so if you do get hit on by girls or if one has ever bought you a drink it's pretty safe to say you're in the top 20% of attractiveness.

The mean height in the US for men is 5'10. If you are 6'2 then congrats you're in the top 20% of height.

Most average guys dress like shit. If you match your clothes well and make sure they fit well then chances are you're in the top 20% of men with respect to style.

I could go on and on, but it really doesn't take that much to be in the top 20% of anything (except literal facial attractiveness and height) although putting on muscle and losing fat can improve posture and cause you to have more facial definition leading to a perception of greater height and facial attractiveness.

Conclusion

By all means strive to be in the top .00000...01% of whatever the fuck you do in your life, but don't assume top 20% is unattainable. The guys I know that get laid more than I do aren't super handsome male models. They're in shape pretty handsome guys who dress well, and know how to talk to girls. They are just in the top 20% and sometimes top 5% in some of these categories. It isn't hard and most of you guys who have the desire can attain a top 20% status easily with just a little work.
