It was a woman who was hit by a car walking in the middle of the high-way at night.

So I was conversing with two women about this today and neither of them knew it was a woman, they just knew someone died and was killed essentially. When I started explaining what had happened and said "she", they both stopped and gasped "omg it was a WOMAN?!".

I was so taken aback by it, because I don't think they had any idea what they just said with that statement. It actually stung a little, not going to lie. To be so blatantly faced with the "disposable male" theory so plainly by people who 100% instinctively believe it and would have been very confused had I scolded them for it. This shit is ingrained.
