So recently I’ve finished Dale Carnegie’s “How to win friends and influence people,” which was amazing to say the least.

In a chapter he talks about how being interested makes you interesting. So as for conversations go, it would be much better to ask more about the other person and let them do most of the talking? I an aware of the 2/3 rule for women which seems to be similar here.

However, what about random interesting things that pop into my head? For example: I think of a really cool scenario/ funny thing in my head. I don’t want to come off as someone who doesn’t have a filter but rather remain in tact with keeping a conversation flowing. How do you guys find a balance between keeping a conversation in tact and letting the person do most of the talking?
