It was Colttaine who brought to the manosphere's attention about Cameron's explanation that Jack has to die even though he could have survived. A lot of the guys are missing the point and are attributing her "fond" memories to the fact that that is because Jack is an alpha. No.
The reason for her "fond" recalling is because Jack dies to save her. The titillation is not caused by Jack's masculinity, but by his disposability. The reason it is "romantic" and the reason she recalls him fondly is because he sacrificed his life for her survival. Dalrock has also pointed out several times that this is why the story of the Titanic, where men needlessly sacrificed their lives to put women first as a "romantic" gesture, is held high as the height of Chivalry. It is not considered romantic enough if you do not sacrifice something for the sake of the holy vagina. If an alpha does not sacrifice anything, she will just rewrite everything and make him the bad guy and her time with him as a "learning" experience towards her "maturity".
Edit: Added more context to point out how the deaths in Titanic were mostly because of gesture and not efficiency.

Because that's reality.
Look. I know a lot of trad cucks want to fantasize and stroke off to it, but women don't really give much of a shit about you. You just are a round peg stuck and wedged into a square hole.
You are not special or unique.

To go further, women are shallow, far more shallow then any man.
She remembers the dude who looked hot who loved her the most, not the dude who she is best with. Even if he ruined her life and the loser saved her life.
Women just want sex and money. Men hate it and keep trying to either deny the truth or try to bend reality to make women worth something other then sex and mothers...but it just doesnβt work.

Because women do NOT want to be married for money, safety and security. They crave feelings, excitement and tingles more than anything else.
However, while they do not want to be married for money, they will pretend they want to just to get money, thus trapping many men who have been fooled into thinking that their women genuinely love them when they don't.
[β]uberduger58 points59 points60 points 3 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
And she fucking nailed it too - if you look at all the experiences she's had in her life with the flying and the horses and the art and all the 'stuff' she's accumulated, she clearly still married into some money.
Maybe you could even headcanon it that she was lying about never seeing Cal again, and maybe she actually cucked him into still marrying her, then divorce-raped him, and that's why he ate a bullet a few years later.

Also, you know how if people get dementia, they will often talk about whatever they're used to talking about? Imagine her continually asking, 20 times a day, "have I told you about a lovely young man I met on a boat when I was your age?" And then telling you the whole story.

[β]AlturiusSr. Hamster Analyst5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Robert Briffault - a French Surgeon who became a famous anthropologist and novelist. Briffaults Law In a nutshell, shows how MEN ARE EXPENDABLE as far as women are concerned. It describes women's monkey branching behaviour in playing men off against each other, to gain the most benefits for themselves, and how they rationalise when it is time to move on to a male offering more benefits (usually 'hotter') than her current partner.
Briffault's Law
"The female, not the male, determines all the conditions of the animal family. Where the female can derive no benefit from association [relationship] with the male, no such association [relationship] takes place." [Robert Briffault]
Robert Briffault provided the following additional observations that further illustrate a woman's mercenary attitude in mate selection:

There is no point in educating someone who is not willing to put in minimal effort, like typing 2 words on Google. That person is lazy and wants things to be given to them rather than working to have them. They make others work for them. By not being an enabler, I educated you to discover Briffault's Law and search for the truth by yourself, which you did, proving that you can and that you are willing to do it by your own effort. People value things they work for much more than what's for free. Now you seem like a person worthy of a conversation too, so if you want to talk, let's have a conversation.

They crave feelings, excitement and tingles more than anything else.
Can confirm. My own mother walked out on more than a few good men and 3 marriages. I remember her telling me she was divorcing my step father after 16 years of marriage because the love she felt was more like the love for a brother. Then she went boy crazy in her late thirties and into her forties. Started dressing like a hipster. Met a douche bag and married him for the tingles. A few years later she was divorced once more and pining for her ex, finally realizing that this brotherly love was actually mature love, meant to last into old age together. Lol
I still laugh about it today when I stop in and visit her and her cats!

It is funny when it doesnβt hurt people.
But men and children have been ruined by this selfish, narcissistic hedonism.
[β]CuntMonteCristo32 points33 points34 points 3 years ago* (10 children) | Copy Link
The problem is that feelings, excitement and tingles are very unstable and momentary and (some say almost) impossible to hold over the years. By logic, that makes women not suitable to raise a family unless they are forced to stay committed or would face severe consequences if they leave. Not to mention that after a few years with Jack, the painter homeless bum, Rose would be bored since she got used to the level of "excitement", pissed off and nagging Jack to death about the finances and why he has not made any money or doesn't make more money and probably already had a few kids with him that they can't afford. She would then be done with Jack and show up here looking for a good man...
Ps. In my personal opinion, women are creatures that are not able to be satisfied for longer than brief periods of time. They raise the bar constantly. So no matter how much tingles and excitement you bring, over time it will not be enough. You can be Brad Pit, Dr. Dre, Will Smith it does not matter. Unless forced by social norms, laws etc. or unless she needs you, she will be gone sooner or later in 99% of all cases. Always chasing the dragon...
[β]SylvestorTalone11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
''Unless she needs you''
That's my conclusion as well. The bottom line is that female loyalty and an orderly, safe environment are mutually exclusive. Either we're living in the stone age with predators and starvation around every corner, and every woman having a man invested in her is a matter of literal life and death, or they will just prioritize tingles over evertyhing else. Stable families build civilization and then civilizational stability renders the family untenable thanks for female fickleness.
[β]CuntMonteCristo8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I understand where you are coming from and that is surely a factor. But I'm not sure they are mutually exclusive, as long as women are forced by law or social norms. Think about the 50s before no-fault divorce was made legal and single moms were socially rejected and look down at. Things were quite stable and the family unit was working well. Afterwards surely everything went to shit :-)
[β]SylvestorTalone2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
My position is that the way things played out was inevitable. The rat utopia experiements ''work well'' for a little while, but the population crash always occurs under those conditions.
If things are safe enough for long enough women will always eventually make the calculation: ''my sexual independence is more important than having a man committed to me'' and then that's the end of the family unit.
[β]CuntMonteCristo4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That is an interesting thought and analogy with the rat utopia experiment.

Yeah, I gotta say, the reason she's talking about Jack is because she's brought there by the wreckage crew and, you know, asked to talk about her experience on the Titanic. No one was asking for her life story, just details about her time on the ship. So she told them. Doesn't necessarily mean she puts Jack above her eventual husband, kids, grandkids, etc. Although based on the story, she for sure put him above her fiance at the time.

Guys, repeat after me:
"I'm not special to her, it's just my turn."
Women are unable to love unconditionally. Remember that.
You are nothing more than a means to end for her, whoever 'her' happens to be in your current relationship.
She'll use 'love' and sex as weapons of control, to manipulate resources out of you. You are nothing but an ATM, a clown, a chauffeur, a concierge, and an acrobat that jumps through her hoops, for her personal entertainment.
She does not care about you. She does not think of you when you aren't present. Out of sight, out of mind solipsism for her. She doesn't have the capacity for object permanence in what we understand as a romantic relationship.
It must be all about her, all the time.
Bitches love Titanic. Just remember, she used the dude for a distraction to make her fiance jealous (she cheated on her fiance - meaning she gave her WORD to man she would be his wife and then broke that word multiple times) - and then when the ship was sinking her affair partner was stuck in frigid waters while she was on a door, big enough for the two of them.
And she let him die. She let him drown.
She never tried to help him.
And that's why women love this movie. Because the female 'protagonist' got away with ruining two men for her own personal pleasure, both died and she was relieved of any real responsibility.
Oh what a fantasy!
[β]TraksimussJr. Hamster Analyst7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We don't know why but there are theories.
One is that all of this is a simulation and that women are NPC's written into the program to fuck with us.
Another is that God created women in order to fuck with us. I always detected just a hint of sarcasm in the gods statement- "It is not good for man to be alone...Since he complained, let us send him a woman to fuck with him." That's not an exact quote but that's how I remember it.
Evolutionary Psychologists say women are like that because that was the best way to insure the best seed and provisioning for their kids.
Red Pill guys say women are like that because women are, in general, governed by their emotions and at the end of the day it is Tingles Uber Alles- Tingles Above All.
Being a red pill, evo psych kind of guy, I think it is simply because Homeless guy fucked her into a puddle and since emo bitches are the rule, this is what she remembers. All women put themselves into the vagina tingles of 'Rose' and identify with her so that is why they consider it a love story.
Black pillers will tell you the next level that women get all tingled up by this story because of the juxtaposition of passion and loss caused by a senseless sacrifice. They think "he died to save her" and it causes a flood of vaginal discharge emotions.

Part of it is the fantasy though. Even had she married an alpha she might be pining for an earlier boyfriend who was less alpha because she never had to experience him warts and all. Lots of people do this, women especially, when expectations are unrealistically high, thinking they should be happy all the time. Even women in happy marriages still daydream about past, non-chad guys. It's escapism. Childishness.

Memes from 4chan, huh? Wasn't on her death bed, she was flown in. Why? Because someone like James Cameron can't make a profitable movie about an average woman who raises a family and becomes a grandmother? She forgot about him until she saw herself on the news of the sketch and the missing diamond. She emphasized that she had a family, and then they asked her story. Safe to assume she forgot because she remarried and never told anyone in her family. It was news to her granddaughter as much as everyone else. The movie was illogical, it was established 20 years ago that Jack could have fit on the door. They even had physics professors chime in on it over the years. I first saw this movie in high school, on our last day of 10th grade when someone brought in a pirated vhs tape (it was still playing in theaters at the time), eventually skipped out then got caught smoking. And it's been a headache ever since.
