As a result of the confluence of a number of significant stressors I have had panic attacks recently (my OYS post for detail). This was severely impacting my cognitive abilities to navigate the very stress events that were triggering the panic. I went to my primary care physician with this issue, and they prescribed an anti-depressent (AD) and and anti-anxiety (AA) medication.

Apparently if I start the AD med I can't just stop. Additionally I have been dealing with hormone issues, and I fear that this is going to add the confusion.

Any of you MRP men had experience in implementing any of the stages of red-pilling a marriage while on low dose AD meds, or as needed AA meds. Did they affect your libido or sex life positively or negatively? Did they impact your ability to implement your mission or Red Pill learning?

I started SSRI before starting red pill, it was my crutch to get me through life. Medication impacts people in different ways, for me it gave clarity and the ability to think logically as well as increased confidence and extreme levels or horneyness. I became my old self again. MRP has since enabled me to take action to drive positive chance in my life. It's a long road but already i feel better I myself to be able to start to wean myself off the medication. Zoloft 2years 150mg taken originally for hypertension, panic attacks and generally because I was a pussy and lacked the ability to lead and cope generally with my shitty life and puking like a victim blaming everyone else. It was my fault but MRP has given me the life skills to start digging myself out. I would recommend medication as you seem in a bad place but don't let it put you off continuing the MRP path. Lifting will help strengthen your mind as well as your body.

I'm still a blue pill pussy cuntbag but I know it and am taking action to unfuck myself. Also these other pricks on here will soon tell you when you fucked up.

P.s as for sex life it's non existent but thats on me and not the medication as it started way before I started the meds.

I can't even find your oys post as you seem to post on Reddit every waking hour, what the fuck is that about get some fresh air mate!

Wholey shit man fix the hormone thing it could resolve the other issues. If you are low testosterone and fix it, you will be a different man.

Try that before the meds.

You might want to consider seeing a specialist like a endocrinologist for the hormone issues and a psychiatrist for the mental issues.

You didn't list your age, or the names of the meds.

First, I would handle your hormone issues. If you are low T or have thyroid problems, getting those fixed is a game changer.

I do also take small doses of an AA med, vallium. Half a 5mg pill, twice a week. It really helps calm myself down a bit and help with clarity in decision making.

Getting your T corrected can seriously impact your libido. Make sure you are lifting so you have a very willing partner.

I’ve been on 2mg of Prozac for about 8 months. It cleared up any anxiety I was having, the negative thoughts I was having stopped, and nothing irritates me anymore; whereas everything irritated me before, I wanted to die, and my self confidence was at an all time low.

I ran out last week, and I haven’t been able to make it to my doctor to get filled. We’ll see if I need to or not. Last summer if I went 2 days without I would feel very anxious and irritable. Im about 5 days off these things and I still feel like I did when I was on them. So needless to say the things I have been doing in my life - lifting; confidence building; red pill reading. I may not need to again.

IIRC the half-life of prozac is 16 days. Don't be fooled by being off a week that you are all clear to dump it completely.

I have seen this happen in other people. They take their meds, feel great, decide they don't need it anymore, they are ok for a few weeks, then they go off the fucking rails.

Thanks brother. I’ll be sure to call my doc on Monday.

Yeah, there’s a rebound effect with a lot of AD’s. Very high suicide rate on people who just quit. You have to taper off gradually.

I would agree getting your hormones fixed would be step #1. Second, you could always try mild AD/AA medications first, like 5-HTP or St John's Wort (just be sure not to go crazy and take too many, and look up any interactions with other drugs you currently take). Third, try vitamin D and/or fish oil supplements. Fourth, are you exercising regularly and intensely?

These are all generally safer alternatives that may or may not work for you. Good luck.

I'm going along with everyone else, get the hormones checked first before getting on AD.

From my experience (and mental medicines can affect everyone differently.) If the anxiety and panic attacks are bad I would probably take the AA as needed. Panic and anxiety attacks can be debilitating. At the same time numbing yourself on AA meds can be debilitating as well so take the lowest amount to get by.

AD meds can be helpful. The problem with them, it generally takes up to 6 weeks for the full effects of them to start working. So if it's not the right one for you, you have to ween off them and then start another 6 weeks with a different one. It can take a long time to find the right one.

For whatever reason, most ADs have side effects in the libido department. I have heard a couple of them can actually make you hornier. My experience with multiple meds, I generally experience a delayed ejaculation. No loss in interest, just it takes forever to finish and tend to get worn out, and lose an erection. Some times I can just take a break and hop back in the ring to finish. However, sometimes I can't, and that there will mess with a chicks head. She will get a complex because she doesn't think she's good enough to get you off, and that is no good.

My advice is to avoid the AD's if possible. Do some exercise, definitely take some vitamin d if your not, and get the hormones checked out.

First up. I am a licensed Paramedic. We used to have a real doc on the boards but he has disappeared over the last year. SO...while i can’t give diangosis I can help guide towards a medical solution.

First and foremost you should see a specialist in all areas. YOur primary is NOT an expert. At all. They are the first line. They like to think they can ID things but...really. You can’t know everything. Go get a second opinion from a specialist as /u/SteelSharpensSteel suggests.

ANd no. You shouldn’t go cold turkey. There’s a weaning process. That is to say...do what you want. My dad went col turkey from smoking and other things they considers “addictive”. But it is not medically recommended. You do you here. Again as a Medic I HIGHLY recommend you see someone who specializes here.

Medications for Psychiatric issues have a wide range of effects. A doc would know more about the biology but they can effect libido and even your ability to perform in a Red Pill manner. Let’s be honest...biology like Chemistry is a messy science. Emergency Medicine is pretty robust and they know how to save and bring people back, but psychiatry? Takes some dialing in. You might experience issues as they dial in your correct doasage. Be aware of that.

Now. I am a disabled veteran. I am a Medic. I’ve lost 5 buddies to PTSD....two in the last year. You can’t mess around with your mind. It needs to get right. I am going to read your OYS and get a better understanding of YOUR situation BUT....

I am going to tell you that there is no magic cure here other then you getting the mental and testicular fortitude to take on whatever it is taht’s there. I once asked one of my senior sergeants how he could handle dealing with all the things he has sene and done. He had been in combat in Panama. Desert Storm. Kosovo. He’d been a Ranger in the Regiments. He had some combat jumps. Rare these days.

He told me just lock it up. Put it in a box in the basement of your mind. Don’t ever open it.

I said how do you deal with it.

He came back...how can you? Who understands what we do? Why understand it? It doesn’t matter. Lock it away and never think of it again.

Dude was pretty solid guy. I still talk with him to this day. Men have the ability to compartmentalize their thoughts and emotions. Lock them away and focus on the task at hand. A man is only as strong as his mind. You need to work on that. Start building your mind. Drugs are only a way to hold off the problem so you can get focus and strength to deal with whatever it is causing you these issues.

There is strength in acknowledging your weaknesses.

Don't be ashamed to need help. Like a soldier storming a wall, you have a mission to accomplish. And if you've been wounded and you need a comrade to pull you up? So what? ~MARCUS AURELIUS

That said. Unless you need surgery I wouldn’t tell your wife. At all. Only you have solid frame. Until You’ve been firing on all cylinders in a RP manner. Don’t. She doesn’t need to know unless surgery is involved. She will count it among your weaknesses.

We aren't doctors round here. Can tell you that medicines are canes we use to make it through things we don't want to handle. Check out /r/SuicideWatch and get a real grip on what the MD is writing out each time you go see the MD.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
